Gatwa will replace Jodie Whittaker and become the Fourteenth Doctor.
Doctor Who has officially cast Sex Education's Ncuti Gatwa as the next Doctor to "take charge of the TARDIS."
Announced by The BBC, Gatwa won the Best Actor Award at the Scottish BAFTA's in 2020 for his performance as Eric Effiong in Sex Education and he is also set to star in the upcoming Barbie film alongside Margot Robbie.

This will finally put an end to the show. Idiots.
Wave two of stunt casting. When a show revolves to stunt casting just stick a form in it, easpecislly if it’s some stunt casting. It is saying they are out of ideas.
Reply 5 was some serious authentic gibberish on my part. Was saying stick a fork in the show if all it can come up with for buzz is a stunt casting announcement, especially if it’s woke.
I’ll stick with classic Who up to Capaldi.
Yeah, this ‘shock marketing’ thing is killing shows off left and right. Netflix ones are lucky to last 2 seasons and G4TV was a total failure on twitch.
This will put an end to the show
______
Maybe not. Woke factions seem to own SF, fantasy, comics, superheroes, entertainment, and many fans are wholeheartedly woke followers, tending to be on the nerdy, peculiar side of things themselves, and embracing all that claims misfit status.
My wife still watches Dr. Who regularly. I watched some shows back in the Tom Baker years, but never was crazy about the show. Now it seems to be nothing but running around and shouting.
You could really see the woke stuff in my favorite genres going back a long time. TNG had a lot of weird stuff on it for the time.
Nerds and the IT crowd types are extremely left for the most part. It saddens me as one and a scifi fan. The trannies and gays more or less run them now.
The Capaldi doctor was rather weak but improving when he left.
Since BBC American was the only channel I watched on that cable tier, and it was little more than StarTrek:NTG reruns, I dropped the tier — especially when I saw Whittaker was the new rendition.
From what few reviews I read, the Whittaker era was not well received by viewers.
I have no plan to watch the next rendition of the Doctor.
I’ve read and saw an interview (Kenneth Braungh I think.. Wasn’t watching only listening!) that you can’t get funding unless you cast “woke”.
New Dalek tag line:
EFFEMINATE!
EFFEMINATE!
Best line from the Baker years was at an episode end when the Brigadier declined a lift in the TARDIS back to the MOD and another character tells him he was no true Scotsman, he could have saved the train fare.
Honestly, that describes everyone I've ever known who watches the show. I tried to watch it back in the late 80s, on someone's recommendation, and couldn't even make it through one episode.
The Baker years had the best writing of any.
And gay Dr. Who would be very interested in their toilet plunger weapons.
The concept of science fiction was that the audience had to have a “suspension of disbelief” to enjoy the story.
The concept of blacks leading technological advancement into outer space is just a bridge too far for me....
