Among the Wokerati

The "First Rule of Holes" states that when you're in a hole, stop digging. American businesses have dug themselves a colossal hole by going woke and most have not stopped digging. They are paying for it in lost customer dollars and lost respect. The adage, "Go woke, go broke" applies even more lately than when the Wokeratti CEOs first decided, unfathomably, to jump on the bandwagon. At the time, our collective reaction was, "Are they crazy? I'm boycotting." And we did, heartily and in great numbers.

The great majority of American consumers are not in favor of woke policies, yet those policies have taken hold of many organizations and corporations. It pays to find out why: One person can be made to look like thousands by use of bots, a digital way to exaggerate and multiply comments beyond their actual numbers. This happens everywhere online. Some businesses that went woke were duped into thinking that hundreds if not thousands of people were demanding it when in reality, it was one or two people using bots.

In recent days we are noticing that some businesses who once swaggered their social justice cred have perhaps lapsed into a fugue state wondering what hit them. The Subway fast food chain seems to be suffering for their support and near-canonization of a supremely ungrateful, unpatriotic sports star and kneeler.

Disney is suffering tremendous losses for their pervasive in-your-face Queer agenda. An Issues & Insights/TIPP Poll revealed that the Disney brand is now trusted by only 42% of independents, while 52% percent of the polled say they don’t trust Disney's programming for their children any more. Didn't Disney realize that such positions are surefire ways to lower their bottom line?

These “business leaders” are doing the equivalent of a face tattoo that says IDIOT. When everyone decides it is crazy, they won’t be able to undo the damage.

There was a saying that the cost of marketing was “X” to gain a new customer, but ten times “X” to bring back a customer who became angry or disenchanted. One sees this in the numbers for viewers . subscribers / listeners and more in the media business. Peeve a customer and the costs mount as more upset customers spread that reliable “word of mouth.” Works every time.

To those of you sitting on a board of directors..

Any business model that automatically alienates at lease half of your potential customer base, is doomed to fail

Companies don’t have a choice. They have to go woke or they will be isolated from the financial system by the international orgs and banks. Embrace ESG or be denied credit.

For me, once a business goes woke, I generally stop doing business with them. And I never go back, no matter their stance.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Walmart seems mute on most issues of the day.

Just dumped HULU because they bundled with Disney. You can’t get the live TV options without it so “bye bye.”

I decided to deplatform my enemies from my wallet a year and a half ago. After having been a heavy diet coke drinker for over 40 years, I dropped them completely and have not had a single soda since then. Similarly BofA and AT&T and Gillette also got the boot as did Firefox, Google, TurboTax, and more. I’m never coming back.

Yep. I have become what marketers call a “terrorist” in that I not only dropped the products of offending companies, I bad mouth them to everyone I know at every opportunity and encourage others not to do business with them either.

I will do just as much damage to them as I possibly can.

Now Taco Bell, too...
Taco Bell promotes LGBT advocacy in drag queen shows at its restaurants
Add them to the boycott list.

***********

Haven’t noticed that but I still see a lot of shoppers there
and in store shopping for their customers is growing it seems
to me. I see employees pulling around carts and loading them
with goods for various customers. Drive up and they load them
for you and off you go.

The Left is big on boycotts, but never expects their opposition to use such a tactic, and cries foul when we do.
