I worked for a major corporation for 30 years and they actively hunted down and executed (fired) employees that were doing nothing or things that were worthless. The dead wood (and not so dead wood) didn’t last long.
The ‘prize’ was a ‘paycheck’ every two weeks if you succeeded...............

To a leftist those are all the same things.
There was a Gunny Sergeant in my Company in the Marines who was also a ordained minister.
He did not put up with profanity in his troops.
There was a sign on his desk that read:
PROFANITY IS THE SOUND OF AN IGNORANT MIND TRYING TO EXPRESS ITSELF.
EXAMPLE...
Oh yeah...I said ONE bad word once when i was about 5...”damn”... which I must have heard one of my parents say...I got the bar of soap in my mouth.
My entire career, I was a tech writer, programmer, system administrator, and customer help desk. I never lacked for work that needed to be done; sometimes the problem was finding out what task took priority (and who was pushing the priorities). Sometimes I worked for a Fortune 500 corporation, sometimes I was a sole proprietor, sometimes for a start-up.
For almost a year, I was a security guard. Guarding a bunch of one-arm bandits in a bankrupt casino and property from squatters and copper thieves.
Never had one of those cushy jobs like the girl in the twitter note said.
Lazy people LOVE meetings. And as for e mails, there are people who will say things to you in an e mail, they would never have the stones to say to your face
I wondered that too at times. To be able to sit on my butt all day in a/c would be a dream job. What we do know about federal workers is, they watch a lot of porn.
when I was still working, as a busy RN at a busy hospital, the ONLY people getting long breaks were the office people...they would all leave the office at the same time, sit at long tables in the cafeteria, and smile and drink and eat and converse in a easy way....they btw were the only ones to be able to attend any celebrations as a Christmas party or a bbq because their jobs did not require them to be actually working all the time....
We had a saying in the Marines: RHIP...........................
It’s true. Especially if you are far more intelligent and faster.
I once had a coworker tell me about the pre-meeting they had about the meeting for a meeting to occur later.
Lots of corporate office jobs are garbage.
