More important though is the monitoring of the ETCO2 (the exhaled Carbon Dioxide.) All trauma patients will have their End Tidal monitored, it is a critical function which I presume most people are unfamiliar with.
Funny about the ice question. For years we used to draw Arterial blood for testing Ph and CO2 levels.This was to determine if the patient was acidotic or alkalotic. A Ph between 7.35-7.45 is considered ‘normal.’ Outside of that range typically interventions are required. The blood get about 5 things measured (actually more, but we don’t ordinarily look at all of them.)
Once the blood was obtained it was immediately placed in ice in case of any delay in getting the results ensued. We had the practice of getting analysis within 30 minutes or get a newer sample. Sometime in the last decade or so, they ended the ice policy. I always felt funny about that, did not seem right. So, I rarely needed ice.
Still, in my hospital(s) I always knew where the ice machines were. Most facilities have a ton of them. Best I can figure is that there was a fluid restriction involved. If the Docs order say 500 CCs per day, you are not going to get 501, period. Ice is of course additional fluid.
I think Kushner made his bones publicly and legit-ly (mog, I cannot spell and Grammarly has no idea what I’m trying to say! sorry!) on the public stage (the Abraham Accords) so I don’t think this is shady. Thanks!

Two staff returned to their office on Sunday morning to find graffiti writing on the wall saying, “If abortions aren’t safe, then you aren’t either.”
Well said about senior citizens and brain foggynest. I see it all the time and encourage older folks to have a source of supplemental oxy. I’ve shown to others in the family how beneficial it can be. It’s easy for me to do since I keep a bunch of pure oxy and breathing equipment at the shop.
One thing that’s really, really, weird is that some folks resist getting extra oxy because it might cost something. Sometimes Medicare will help, with a doc’s order, and while they don’t complain about the price of a pill, somehow there is resistance to using something with NO SIDE EFFECTS.
On a side note, I sleep like my pet rock and fall asleep normally before I get all the covers just right. But on that occasional time when I don’t drop off right away I take a few deep inhales thru the nose along with quick, forceful nose exhales. Just for fun I do a ten count. I hardly ever make it to ten before I’m gone. My heart rate is normally 60ish but that little burst of extra oxy takes it down to 60, and the slower pulse just knocks me out. It’s good if you have an oximeter handy to learn what your pulse pattern might be.
I have one. Laying here watching tv. Oxy is 99 and HR is 66.
That “gun-in-the-walker” thing happens more than you’d guess. Over the years I’ve had family types bring guns to me worried that Dad/Granddad/uncle etc was getting erratic and wanted the gun made safe. They knew there’d be a fuss if they took it away so they’d ask me if I could disable it. The trick is to make it un-fireable but still look like it works. The idea works if only one gun is involved and I’ve been there-—done that-— numerous times. Same thing happens with power tools. Take the sharp ones away first. then the big ones.
Fellow that works for me occasionally , and his brothers, took their 95 YO Dad’s garden tractor away from him. I ragged on him about it but he said they had to because he rolled it!
I feel your pain. Watched my wife almost kill herself dealing with her sociopath father. She lost a job dealing with all his demands. She’s had two bouts of cancer and a back surgery during that time and not once did he ever ask her how she was doing.
Her reward, he accused her of trying to take power of attorney which her brother has, Removed her from the will and told her he didn’t want to ever see her again.
So now he sits in his own feces and stews because she’s not there to take his abuse while her brother at 52 lives in Daddy’s house and drives truck over the road.
On a positive note we no longer have our lives in constant drama and turmoil.

Yes. As the documents are released, Naomi Wolf has Steve Bannon’s Warroom posse going through them. She has about 3000 volunteers now (there are a LOT of documents), close to 300 of them are lawyers, many doctors too. You do not have to be a doctor or lawyer though, many regular Joes are also combing through them.
Watch this at the link, she gives her info at the end, anyone can get in touch with her to volunteer, they’ll vet you a little and assign a certain number of pages to you for examination. They’re uncovering all sorts of horrific stuff Pfizer wanted to keep hidden.
