Foreign-educated registered nurses welcomed to the U.S. in the first quarter of 2022 are beginning their employment in 31 states, according to a May 5 news release from healthcare staffing firm Health Carousel.
The nurses are working at U.S. healthcare facilities from Hawaii to Maine.
"It's such a joy to be a partner to someone in coming to America, supporting them as they begin employment, and watching them grow in their careers here," Katie Glaser, senior vice president of Health Carousel International, a division of Cincinnati-based Health Carousel, said in the release. "They also become an important part of the fabric of their new communities and advance in their careers into nursing leadership roles and nursing faculty, get involved in their local schools, volunteer opportunities and other community programs."
Health Carousel said the firm historically has assisted nurses and other healthcare professionals from the Philippines, United Arab Emirates, South Korea, India and other countries who want to practice in the U.S. This assistance is related to educational, clinical and immigration preparation, as well as study programs, testing and visa support.
I’ll take a foreign nurse over a Snowflake American Politically Correct nurse.
Nursing schools are PACKED, and have been for years.
Older Nurses are quiting because of all the BS.
So my advice? Don’t get sick.
Your Blue Helmet UN or Post Teen Wokester “Nurse” won’t give a shiite, won’t be able to understand you, or just won’t have a clue.
nag unsa man ka?
kumusta po kayo?
Yeah I know.
Wanna bet?
However, while she was in a pre-nursing program, she worked at a local pharmaceutical company to earn what she needed to stay in college since her Dad was not rich enough to write a tuition check.
The company liked her so well that they promoted her on graduation and sent her to Japan where she is doing way better than she would've done as a nurse.
That kind of thing seldom happened to us boomers because there were so many of us in the workforce that companies could afford to treat us like crap. Not anymore.
Likely to the 31 states with vaccine mandates who lost highly capable American trained nurses.
In large part because they're retiring. That curve in the participation rate you posted pretty well matches boomers' work years.
If we want the participation rate to go up we need a higher percentage of pre-retirement people in the population.
We used to call them Scabs
They will be better than certain dei nurses especially if they are not from certain continent.
Renew! Renew!

biden proved the kung flu is a scam when he waltzed into the white house, disbanded trump’s “operation warp speed”, opened our southern border, and continues to covertly spread over 2,000,000 nondocumented unvaccinated invaders across our country during a supposed “global pandemic” while anthony fauci, the cdc, the nih, the world health organization, the enemedia, hollywierd, and the majority of our elected representatives sit back and watch...
trust our government to protect you and your health at your own peril...
Might some think this is racist....but the worst Nurses and RT's and Aids that I've seen are from the Philippines.
My thought is about the VA where they are operating at 38% staffing as it is, and Biden wants to take from that skeleton crew, and place them to take care of the illegals stampeding our Southern border. Now we read this.
More damned bodies they will teach how, and who to vote for.
Were they checked for tuberculosis?
At my wifeās hospital system (about 4,000 employees) there were usually 100-150 job openings from all across the board. Today there are close to 500 open postings.
An RN can pretty much write their ticket. And a lot of RNs who were unmarried/no kids became āTravelerā nursesā¦and the money was just crazy.
You’re right. I jumped the gun.
Bravo! You nailed it very well.
I believe it. My FIL is living in our home on hospice and we had a vacation planned prior to his coming here - rather than put him in a nursing facility for a week, we chose to hire private 24/7 in home care from an agency with a good reputation (or so we thought).
Every caregiver was foreign (from Africa) and barely spoke English. While they were all āniceā, they had no clue how to do anything. They did not understand the detailed instructions we left either. They were calling hospice and our pet sitter with questions at all hours of the day and night. The day we got back, my FIL was still in bed, dehydrated, and reeked of urine. I was furious - told the guy to get him out of bed (huge strapping guy), and he said he didnāt know how - so I (a petite older woman) went and got my 125 lb FIL up and into a chair with no problem. We sent the guy home and DH gave the agency an earful. Its been nearly a week and Iām still fuming.
We’ve gone from wetbacks in the fields to wetbacks in the OR...
Same concept, dirt-cheap wages are great for those profit margins...
