The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is planning to ban the use of menthol cigarettes in America, a move that had been called on by anti-tobacco groups, anti-teen smoking groups, racial justice groups in America.
The move had been expected since the beginning of the Biden administration last year, when the President made it a priority to tackle upward trends in teen smoking.
Menthol cigarettes - often colloquially referred to as just 'menthols' - are known for their mint-like flavor, and have been associated with the higher rates of smoking, and smoking-related illnesses, in black Americans over recent decades.
Flavored cigars, like cigarillos, are set to be banned as well. Both moves come as part of a larger effort by the FDA to crack down of flavored tobacco products - blamed for an increase in teen smoking.

Nope. I haven’t seen a built-in car ashtray in a while.
The last few years I smoked, I had those car ashtrays you could buy at CVS/Walgreens. They had a lid on them and sort of kept the smoke to a minimum.
It shouldn’t be long until they start keeping a count of how many carbohydrates a family consumes, how much liquor one buys, and how much red meat we consume so that they can ration such commodities to relieve the Govt run health care system.
Right? For 3 decades I had to listen to people gripe about how bad cigarettes smelled, but somehow it’s fine and dandy for potheads to drag that awful SKUNK scent into closed indoor spaces.

Then the same logic, you are buying a package that has cigarettes Inside them.
I never thought of menthol was a black thing. My Harvard graduated father from Scarsdale smoked menthol all his life.
I think Brandon wants to lose the black vote.
They need to hurry up and ban tobacco, whacky and otherwise.

I recall menthols being popular among blacks in the 80s. I switched over to Salem lights when I was in the Army because menthols didn’t seem as harsh on my lungs as Marlboros. I could still run. Marlboros made it hard to run. I actually rather enjoyed Salems.
Also same administration that gives injection needles to drug addicts....teens included.
Smokers can easily add menthol to their cigarettes or other tobacco products.
For a while I was able to get them on Ebay, but they kept chasing those guys off. I bought a huge supply and still have a few left, but once they're gone, that's it. Now they're going to hit the "flavored cigars," which is the only way you can get cloves now.
Why do they hate Indonesia so badly?
By the same people pushing for legalization of marijuana.
