VIDEO AT LINK ................

Ram has released a new video teaser of its upcoming all-electric Ram 1500 pickup truck, which is scheduled to enter the market in 2024.

The new video is entitled "Ram Revolution | First Look" and shows the front of the vehicle, with a futuristic shape and an interesting LED headlight. It's very similar to the two images that we saw in March.

The tweet version includes info that suggests the presentation of the vehicle in Fall 2022:

"Time to steal some thunder. Unleashing Fall 2022. https://RamRevolution.com"

At this point, we don't know whether it's a concept version, or already an advanced production-bound design.

What we do know is that the work on an all-electric pickup was confirmed in July 2021 by the way of the Stellantis EV Day 2021.

The vehicle should be on the market in 2024, most likely in a 100% electric version and some kind of range-extender version, called Range Electric Paradigm Breaker (REPB).

The base of the electric pickup is the all-new STLA Frame platform, which at the time was envisioned for a range up to 500 miles (800 km) and relatively big battery packs (159-200+ kWh).

The Ram 1500 battery electric vehicle (BEV) pickup truck will join the party slightly later than other models - the Rivian R1T and GMC Hummer EV Pickup are already ramping up. The Ford F-150 Lightning is just around the corner, while the Chevrolet Silverado EV and Tesla Cybertruck are gearing up.

We must assume that along the way there might be some other electric pickups as well, as even Toyota and Hyundai hinted at contenders.

Nonetheless, Ram is a heavyweight player in the pickup segment and with strong specs and a refined design, it might be very competitive. Especially if the REPB will address the long-range/towing issue better than a 100% BEV. We are very curious and cautiously optimistic.

Nope. Anyone who buys an electric pickup truck is going to regret it.

I know the flux capacitor costs a lot more, but will it at least have a 1.2gW instant charging system?

IMHO the only practical range extension for a BEV (battery electric vehicle) is a hydrogen fuel cell. Thus, it'd be a hybrid BEV and HEV.

But if you instead put a gas or diesel powered engine alongside an electric motor (making it like a plug-in hybrid only with a large enough battery and electric motor to be all-electric for at least 200 miles), then the end result is you're depending on both an electric motor and an internal combustion engine. In other words, more components to break down.

But a hydrogen fuel cell is at the end of the day just another electric power source (albeit stored as hydrogen and converted to electricity as needed) that can power the same electric motor that a battery does (or charge the battery so the battery can perform longer). Thus a hybrid between BEV and HEV is a better range extender than a hybrid between a BEV and an ICE car.

'Splain, Lucy. For what I use my truck for 99% of the time an electric truck would be fine.

The weight of the battery system, replacing the battery system and availability of charging systems are all negative factors. And, that is just scratching the tip of the iceberg.

Sounds like you don't need an electric truck and that you'd be batter off with an ICE truck. And, you'd be paying less on the initial purchase, since EVs cost a lot more to buy.

Oh, almost forgot, whoever buys one of those definitely has more money than sense.

It’s rumored to start at $45K, plus the house plus the charger:-)

All the ridicule from the guys at the feed store is going to sting. Heck, all the ridicule from your stock is going to sting worse.

In a few more short years, buying a truck, much less and EV truck, will be like paying a mortgage on a frakin house........

Maybe for most people an EV truck is impractical. But for me it's not.

I put a solar system onto my house 11 months ago and I'm very happy with it. It produces 57% of all the power consumed in my all-electric, two-story house. Assuming over the years a slight degradation in throughput (my batteries have a 19-year warranty still good for 50% capacity on the last year, my panels have a 25-year warranty still good for 70% capacity), and a 3% inflation rate on power prices (basically for every kWh saved next year I save more dollars than my per kWh savings this year) it'll all pay for itself on the 10th year, that includes paying interest on the HELOC I took out to buy the solar system. Obviously, if the Dims keep jacking us over on energy costs my system will pay for itself sooner.

And I average 3 hours per day that my solar batteries are fully charged and the sun is still shining. Basically I have a lot of extra power with nowhere useful for it to go. So I was thinking about putting to charging an EV and not worry about gas prices.

In the past 20 years I can think of only 2 times I used my pickup to pull a trailer more than 100 miles. So at that rate I'd fuss about "range anxiety" once every 10 years. That's a small price to pay for the ability to produce about 50% of my own miles at a fixed cost (the extra cost for buying an EV vs replacing an old used car with another old used car every 7 years for $8K to $10K like I've done for decades).

I was going to get the F-150 Lightning but my wife is now on board with getting an EV. Since I plan to get just one EV and keep one gas car, the EV will be a replacement for her car instead of my pickup. The idea is to have both a gas car and an EV to have the best of both worlds since we need two cars anyway. We'll drive the EV car when we go somewhere together unless it's on a long trip (so we don't have to wait for charging) or unless pickup truck duties are needed. Plus I'll drive the gas truck when we split up for the day and need two cars.

Almost all these electric trucks will end up in the cities driven by woke libtard girly boys.

Dodge is going to name it the "Brokeback Mountain Edition".

Being electric, it's real quiet and won't scare the sheep when one sneaks up on them.

Electric or not, I wouldn’t touch a Dodge with a ten foot pole these days. Used to be a Dodge fan, and owned several, but their quality, which was never great, has gone downhill. Once I bought my first Honda (an Acura), I never looked back. Every Chrysler or Dodge that I ever owned was lucky to make it to 100,000 miles, with the most common failure being transmissions. My 2005 Acura TL, by comparison, is still going strong, approaching 300,000 miles and runs exactly like it did when new. No loss of horsepower at all, and the transmission has been bulletproof.

I keep my cars well maintained, but that never seemed to help the Chrysler products much.
