@SadiqKhan
Free speech cannot mean a free pass for hatred.
We must not forget the impacts of online hate speech, which fans the flames of prejudice and leads to appalling and tragic real-world violence.
Social media companies must do more, not less, to protect their communities.

Free speech cannot mean a free pass for hatred.
Uh, yes it can. I mean, your hatred is ok, right?
Once again th Left claims censorship is free speech.
And isn’t ‘hate’ such a wonderfully vague term with which to justify censorship?
I hate liars, thieves, cheaters, murderers, perverts, and those endorse them. I will not hesitate to say so, either, so FU Kahn.
Note to the ignorant: Hate is not always bad, and love is not always good.
It also can’t mean that you lose your livelihood for saying the N word.
These totalitarian authoritarians enjoyed their protection from and outright oppression of opposing views on social media for years upon years.
It will be quite interesting to see exactly what form the response will be to the threat of losing that special treatment.
Bear in mind, we have totalitarian authoritarians in positions of power throughout all of the world.
How about those individuals who want to cut my head off because they don’t like the way I worship? Those who want to beat me to a pulp because of my hair style, or that I like chitterlings? I haven’t had any Mexicans hate me because I like a bowl of chili every now and then. Italians don’t hate me because I eat pizza and spaghetti. There must be some other agenda.
Islam is fascism.
to the mayor of London, ENGLAND,
you, like all people on the face of this Earth of ours, has the right to an informed opinion.
However, you, in England, do not own, rent, or signify, any and all opinions, informed or not, vociferated by me or my fellow !American citizens, past, present or future.
Why, you might ask?
We Americans have, through our Constitution, embedded in our very fabric, the right, by law, to say, write, scribble, and chicken scratch, whatever our hearts and minds motivate us to do, without any punishment or retribution from any government authority, direct or indirect!
So, please, with my permission, insert your fanciful notion, into either of your nasal passages!
I was a member of a political site, attended mostly by liberals and leftists. It was a “no holds barred” site and most of the arguments against my position were simple ad-hom attacks.
But then the site changed their rules. They no longer allowed ad-hom attacks. most (but not all) of the leftists would continue with the ad-hom and when scolded they would respond with something like, “his position is so obvously wrong, we shouldn’t have to respond to it”. But the admin said that if it was so wrong, they need to demonstrate that with their argument or not respond at all.
Half of them eventually got permabanned. The rest were able to clean up their act quite a bit, but posting on that site is where I came up with the trifecta of leftist argument tools:
1. Ad hominem attack.
2. Projection
3. Deflection.
That is, the ones still there mostly just go for number’s 2 and three. For number three I found a perfect response to their posts: “That’s an interesting thought. You should start a thread on it, but it’s outside the scope of this thread.”
One of the reasons I’m all for free speech is that ideas are able to stand or fall on their own merit, or lack thereof. Free speech allows bad ideas to collapse of their own nonsense.
I used to say that the left owns the MSM, but the right owns the internet, and the right will prevail because of that. Then came cancel culture. But it appears to have run its course. Heck, I think Youtube is even becoming more wary of cancelling videos because of Bitchute, Rumble, et al.
Epilogue to the above: I was cancelled from that site during the plandemic. Not for breaking the rules, but for saying “dangerous” stuff. Things like, “my brother and his friend got ivermectin from his friend’s health clinic in a third world country and both of them were cured of Covid with it.” Or that the vaccines were not fully tested and were not really vaccines.
BUt the cancel culture seems to be running its course. It will be interesting to see what Musk does with Twitter. For all I know, he bought it not to increase free speech, but to take the wind out of the sails of Trumps new Social Media site. What would happen to Bitchute and Rumble if Youtube did a 180 on cancelling videos?
What is Khan’s position on tweets/posts calling for death to Israel or Jews? Gee...I wunder.
Sure it can not to mention who determines what is ‘hatred’? Certainly not you. Of course hatred against whites is fricken peachy to you.
But stabbings are O.K.
Maybe they will feel like they are in outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. š¤
Free speech MUST include what some wish to call āhate speechā. If it does not, the definition of the latter will expand to include anything those in power disagree with.
These people are absolutely living in LA, LA, land, Twitter is so full of leftist utter hatred and these people donāt even SEE IT just amazing how blinded and brainwashed they are!!!
Define hatred?
The answer to "hate speech" is not censorship. Historically speaking, the answer has always been more free speech that logically and systematically dismantles it and persuades people in their hearts and minds that it's wrong.
The minute speech of any kind is squelched, speech of every kind is.
Either we win in the marketplace of ideas where free and fair exchange is permitted, or all ideas die. That's tyranny. That's been Twatter.
