“The media is so desirous (in Rush’s words) to show that Africans are just as good as whites that they will go to great length”
Like Henrietta Lacks. They act like she had been working on that cell line for 20 years and then the white man stole it. I am sorry she had cancer, but she died at John Hopkins, which means she was getting the best available treatment for that time, and I think her family should just be happy that something good came out of her illness. Thanks of course to white researchers who noticed that there was something special about her cancer. They treated her and her biopsy no different that anyone else’s at that time.
So the ancient San had quantum computers and the modern San think the gods must be crazy when a Coke bottle falls from the sky?
What would you do differently?
I myself, I wouldn’t have gone into engineering. Too much work, not enough benefit. Getting a basket weaving degree is much easier, faster payoff, cheaper.
I didn’t see any computers of any kind! I did see a cheetah and a lot of baboons, they didn’t have any computers either.
The European colonialists must have stolen all of the computers. Unless the baboons had some hidden away.
You're right about lots of work, but I saw more than enough benefit to justify the decision. I worked on projects for spacecraft, industrial electronics, consumer electronics, the recording industry, government research, and software security. It's been a great ride, starting to draw to a close (I'm 70).
There've been some tough spots, for sure, but overall I wouldn't do much differently.
Kevmo! Thanks! I realize in reading that I am still a bit light in science coursework needed to give this the attention it deserves!
Still interested, will continue to follow! (If there is time!)
To be candid, this subject of plasmon polaritons and Rydberg Matter is quite difficult to understand.

Thank you!
“Magnetic monopole beam”
I understand the concept of a magnet with either a north or south pole, but not both (Or a single pole magnetic light beam...?).
So...does the missing pole exists in another dimension, or a dimension that we cannot experience or ?
But that is SciFi, a way to kick ideas around without ruining your scientific career!
I’m not sure but I think the physicists have started seeing magnetic monopoles in the lab.
:)
