I've never read the Bible. Hardly ever went to church so I have a problem with this. I didn't think anyone could make Sal Mineo walk in just a few minutes. Make the blind man see and bring Lazarus back to life? Come on. A thief steals a coat and Jesus tells the victim to offer more. Whatever happened to thou shall not steal?
Here's what I'm getting at. Too many people want nothing more than to be led by a messiah. Walk on water and I'll follow you too. Doesn't mean I have to believe someone who claimed it happened.
I just said another one.
If one person or the whole world followed Jesus, HE would remain perfect.
If you entrusted yourself to HIM alone, you will have eternal life.
The rest of the world can make their own decision.
When I was young I hated the taste of avocados.
Lots of people told me that avocados and guacamole were delicious but those foods weren’t for me.
Many years later I was at a restaurant when, for some unknown reason, I decided to taste the guacamole.
It was the right time and at that moment I fell in love with avocados and it’s been a fairytale love story ever since.
You’re questioning so maybe this is your right time for encountering Christ, or maybe not. I can’t possibly know.
At my core, I don’t care what anyone else tells me about Him or what anyone else writes about Him.
I open my heart to Christ and listen to Him with my heart and that is where I meet Him and hear Him and know Him and love Him.
It’s really that simple.
It’s an opening of the heart to welcome Him in.

Au contraire. There was a movie about Mo and Islam. It was titled The Message and starred Anthony Quinn. It never showed the face of Mo or anything but Muslims of course are the toughest critics and decided to take hostages in response.

Yes, I know about that movie, but I don't consider it a movie about Mohammed himself because Mo is not actually depicted. It would be like comparing one of the many films made about Christ with movies that are about Christians or Christ's impact but without Christ as an actual character who shows his face onscreen (Ben-Hur, The Robe, etc). The director of The Message originally called it Mohammed, Messenger of God, but changed it when the death threats started coming in. The director, Moustapha Akkad, was actually a very good director and made the excellent film Lion of the Desert with Anthony Quinn and Oliver Reed. Unfortunately, he and his daughter died during Muslim terrorist bombings in a hotel in Jordan.
Watching a Hollywood movie to get Biblical info is like turning on the news and expecting the truth. They’re both entertainment, not instructionals.

The young ruler who talked to Jesus wanted something to DO to save himself, so Jesus gave him something impossible to do.

This goes back to Abraham, who believed GOD, and it was imputed to him for righteousness.
Jesus Himself asserted that He is the Messiah, Savior, the only way to salvation.
He asserted His miracles as true.

I think it is one of the best mini-series ever made about Jesus. There are always issues when dialogue is added that is not from the Bible. But I think they do a good job of blending the lives of the disciples into the biblical account. Since it is crowd-funded, they have only completed two seasons and are working on the third. I believe you can watch it from YouTube or their website. It starts off kind of slow in my opinion but by the second or third episode, it is pretty good. I would watch the first three episodes and see for yourself. Most people we have talked to about it have enjoyed it.
First of all, no movie, passion play, or Christian song can match the Word alone. It’s not God’s fault that so few miracles seem to be happening. Faith requires devotion. People put their all into things that don’t last long. I have a friend fighting for his life. His three collectable cars are in marvelous condition. Right now those cars don’t mean a thing to him.
Time flies, even if you live 100 years there is an end. I get weary of hearing about financial planning “for the rest of your life”. Then what? I’m looking long term, as in forever.
