Au contraire. There was a movie about Mo and Islam. It was titled The Message and starred Anthony Quinn. It never showed the face of Mo or anything but Muslims of course are the toughest critics and decided to take hostages in response.

Yes, I know about that movie, but I don't consider it a movie about Mohammed himself because Mo is not actually depicted. It would be like comparing one of the many films made about Christ with movies that are about Christians or Christ's impact but without Christ as an actual character who shows his face onscreen (Ben-Hur, The Robe, etc). The director of The Message originally called it Mohammed, Messenger of God, but changed it when the death threats started coming in. The director, Moustapha Akkad, was actually a very good director and made the excellent film Lion of the Desert with Anthony Quinn and Oliver Reed. Unfortunately, he and his daughter died during Muslim terrorist bombings in a hotel in Jordan.
