I've never read the Bible. Hardly ever went to church so I have a problem with this. I didn't think anyone could make Sal Mineo walk in just a few minutes. Make the blind man see and bring Lazarus back to life? Come on. A thief steals a coat and Jesus tells the victim to offer more. Whatever happened to thou shall not steal?
Here's what I'm getting at. Too many people want nothing more than to be led by a messiah. Walk on water and I'll follow you too. Doesn't mean I have to believe someone who claimed it happened.
I’d say your first issue is you admit you’ve never read The Bible. Yet you criticize it. This is shallow at best and childish at worst. Before you criticize something, don’t you think it might be a good idea to actually read the text, become familiar with the product you’re trashing?
It’s like me saying I’ve never read anything about Libertarians, but all they want is to shoot up and use drugs and masquerade as a political idea. Well, maybe not THAT far off, but still. :D
Try reading The Bible. Ask serious questions. Be prepared for answers that challenge you. But don’t just blindly spout nonsense like you’ve just done. That’s such a waste.
Good luck and I hope The Lord opens your heart.

Said a prayer for your soul.
He’s given al..the proof necessary, he even states that I. His word and sayd there will be no excuse for a yone not believing in the end.
Tell him “God i don’t beleive in you, i am very skeptical, and i dknt see you anywhere. but am open to doing so. Your word says there is proof of your existence, but I don’t beleive that either- Help thou my unbelief. Open my eyes that i might see your handiwork” (Note, you can go to,God anytime, anywhere and speak to him face to face as it were-you dont need a priest or anyone else, god invotes you personally to get to,know, him)
Be honest with him. He can give you the desire to get to know him even if you ask. Keep.an open mind, and don’t let the evil.one persuade you that it is hopeless if god takes a ljng time to show you his presence in this world, because that is the primary way in which the evil one works- discouraging people and keeping them from seeking God. Sometimes it takes ,any years to get through to a person, so etimes only a very short time, but keep searching and resist the evil, ones dissuasion.
There is a spiritual battle being waged, and it behooves us to,be on the right side.
I’m calling you out as a moronic jackass. Folks here with a more mature spiritual walk have given you sufficient sources to start building an informed opinion. I suspect you won’t and will rely on the others here to make the case for you. So, you’re not only being a jerk, but a lazy one as well. Oh, and maybe check out Gary Habermas on YouTube. Great information there as well.
LOL. This is why historian Hillaire Beloc said Marxism was just another Christian heresy.
I don’t believe lots of stuff but I don’t feel the need to tell people. Seems like you’re bored and want to start a ruckus.
Uhh--no
Communism is the state forcing individuals to give all. Jesus is recommending it--but not forcing you.
Jesus was talking to an individual, not talking about the State.
Big difference between the State forcing you to do something, and you volunteering to do something because you want to.
> In the movie Lazarus gave one third of his wealth to the church. Not enough. Jesus said give it all. That makes Lazarus a democrat and Jesus a communist. <
All? Please be aware that Jesus often deliberately exaggerated to make a point. For example, Jesus told Peter that should your brother sin against you, you must forgive him not 7 times but 77 times.
Jesus certainly did not mean that you should keep count, and then cease to forgive on the 78th time. Instead Jesus was exaggerating to make a point. Forgive, even beyond what you think is acceptable.
*Said a prayer for your soul.*
I just want my coat back.
*Seems like you’re bored and want to start a ruckus.* U may be right.
*I’m calling you out as a moronic jackass.* I won’t see you in church even if I were to go there.
the difference between delusion and truth is reading HIS Word. That’s where He reveals the truth to you; to your heart. Then you’ll know that you know that you know. Otherwise, we are subject to the wind blowing us here and there because we don’t know the truth. Reading it, where He talks directly to you, is the difference. It will set you free.
—> I was reading a message board about The Passion of the Christ, and it was full of page after page of angry atheists.
No one likes when their life experience is invalidated.
Still, anger is a better reaction than being luke-warm.
The Bible indicates that, if we seek Him, we will find Him. The apostle Paul states that “He is not far from any of us”. If you refuse to seek Him to find and discover Him, chances are you will not find Him. . . you will not likely have a Damascus road experience like Paul, who formerly was known as Saul, was a Pharisee, and was an vicious persecutor of early Christians. But his zeal and intelligence was useful to God’s kingdom,so God made a believer out of him. And he became one of the most powerful influences and witnesses to Christ in the early church, writing much of the New Testament.
Belief, we are taught, is a gift from God. There are those who refuse to believe, as most of the Pharisees would not believe.
My Dad was a minister. I have been exposed to the Bible and the story of Jesus my whole life. The Bible is a fascinating study of human nature and man’s relationship to God. Human nature and the things that motivate man have really not changed much over time.
It is a never-ending journey to become a believer. Faith begins in a very simple form. As you grow in understanding, your faith becomes more complete and durable. Your faith becomes more and more rewarding as you mature as a Christian.
The first step is understanding that YOUR sins and MY sins are what nailed Jesus to the cross. We had NO hope if He had not given Himself up to die for our sins. Understand that it was His CHOICE to die for us . . . the Romans and Jews did not take his life. I took his life with my sins.
I pray that you choose to begin the journey to search for Jesus. There will be bumps. There will be disappointments. But it is a rewarding journey.
And if the whole world followed Jesus? How perfect would it be? A lotta bad things were done over religion. Christianity is no exception. The Romans in that flick were pretty bad. No pushback.
The opiate of the masses. Heard it somewhere. Might work if everyone was a believer. Won’t happen without the 2nd coming. Still need more proof.
As with most movies, the book is better.
I just rewatched Jesus of Nazareth.....and highly recommend it!
Sir, or Ma’am......regardless of what you watch, Jesus is real
He loves you.please don’t turn away.
A desperately fallacious analogy. Obama neither did miracles (but needed some) while if he did then you would have to determine the source. As a total libertarian and presumably an atheist, your problem (and it is) is first that you reject the supernatural, and thus can only imagine that an infinitely vast, irreducibly complex yet ordered (thus disorder is manifest an aberration) universe and all that is in it - including the DNA of man - came to be by natural means, and chance, without a supreme mighty intelligence who could create matter out of nothing.
Talk about something hard to believe.
However, if such an entity exists then why would healing a Sal Mineo to walk in a second be a problem? At least some atheists allow for aliens who perhaps could do so. Your next problem is that documented miracles abound, by the grace of God, such as the videos here:
No, and I’m not the least bit interested in seeing it. (My ire not directed at you, but at entertainment industry schmucks and scientology freaks, and those who pirate the intellectual property of others.)
faith is the evidence of THINGS NOT SEEN, the substance of THINGS HOPED FOR.
When you use your carnal senses (that’s just the flesh; eyes, ears, nose, fingers, taste) you will never know what Christ is saying to you. God is Spirit so you must accept Christ to operate in the Spirit and relate to God.
I’d suggest “When Skeptics Ask” by Norman Geisler.
If a person is genuinely trying to find answers to these very big, ultimately important questions - they will find their answers.
*Actually there will never be a movie about Mohammed because Islam does not allow Mohammed to be depicted in pictures.
