Shawnee State University in Ohio has reached a settlement with a professor whom it punished for refusing to use a transgender student’s preferred pronouns, according to a new report.
The university will pay philosophy professor Nick Meriwether $400,000 in damages and attorney fees and will rescind a written warning it issued to Meriwether in June 2018 in response to a biological male student’s complaint that the professor refused to use female pronouns for the student, Fox News reported
he controversy began in January 18 when Meriwether responded to the student’s question during a political philosophy class by saying, “Yes, sir.” After class, the student told the professor that the student is transgender and asked to be referred to as a woman going forward, including with “feminine titles and pronouns,” according to the Alliance Defending Freedom, which represented Meriwether in court.
The professor argued that obliging the student’s requests would violate his own convictions as a Christian. When the professor declined to use female pronouns, the student became belligerent and told Meriwether he would be fired, according to court documents cited by Fox News.

I refuse to address students as their chosen pronouns/names as well. I just call it a teen fad and tell them I use the name that the government sends me. This really pisses them off.

A just outcome for the prof. It is just a shame the educated “woke” imbeciles who lead this poor excuse for a university wasted tax payer’s money. Surprisingly this school is in Portsmouth, Ohio. One of the redder areas in a red state.
So they don’t have to engage in a mental case’s psychological fantasies. This is a step back in the right direction. It’s also a decision in favor of sanity.

This is what’s is really behind this pronoun crap; an attempt to exert control over others with the threat of termination.
I continue to assert that no one owns the third person pronouns by which he is referenced. Thats other people talking to each other.
Hopefully, lesson learned.
The school settled, so they don’t have to make any changes to their policies. And what is $400k, pocket change.
Now there’s legal precedent.

Fad is the operational word. Look up the statistics. For the oldest generation born in the ‘20’s and ‘30’s LGBTQIA+ (whatever IA+ is supposed to mean) is around 2%; for baby boomers, around 2%; gen X, around 2%; gen Y, 2-3%; millennials it’s up around 35%.
So normally there are around 2% of the people who are attracted to the same sex, which has probably been the case for ages since it is in recorded history. But why the huge jump in confused people just in the last generation? This tells you it’s a cultural problem and not a simply a problem with proper brain development.

U know a guy who decided to live his life as a woman. Changed his first name from John to Joanie. I have no problem calling him Joanie, but refuse to refer to him as a feminine pronoun.
He’s a male; and never will be a female. He’s been putting on the pounds ever since he started taking female hormones. He has probably put on 80 pounds in 4-5 years, and I don’t think that’s going to stop any time soon. He’s really filling out.

Well, the truth is that since it was changed from actual sexual activity to a “lifestyle,” every virgin who’s confused about themselves (read: half the teenage population) self-identifies as gay.
Simply refuse to identify as its teacher.
The philosophy (reality) teacher would be the expert here.

What’s this mean now? We recently had a man decide he was a woman at my job. We’ve all been informed we have to call him a woman’s name, and the entire company has now had pro-LGBT training thrown in our faces. The last one was 100% propaganda in helping these people “come out” in the work place.
Does this mean I do not have to abide?
Good for him.
