Desire to break free from Ukraine keeps devastated Donetsk fighting
PBS ^ | Jul 5, 2016

In Eastern Ukraine, there’s supposed to be a cease-fire, but the fighting starts again every night. For two years, soldiers for the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic -- with the backing of Russia -- have fought the Ukrainian government to gain autonomy. Special correspondent Nick Schifrin reports from the front lines, in partnership with the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting.

After reading a few sentences, I was confused and wondering what sort of warped reasoning would choose this particular subset of the Ukraine war. Then I saw what would have prevented me from even bothering to read the screed: PBS.

Those PBS puppies are truly sick. Which, of course, is why they MUST be supported by an equally sick government. I’m talking about the U.S. government, of course. Eff you, PBS, and the taxpayer’s funds that you cannot live without.

A while back there was a Minsk agreement in which Ukraine gave up these regions — the Donbas area.
But, apparently BeijingBiden convinced his favorite money launderer (Zelynskyy) that a war was a better option.

I’m not taking Russia’s side. But, let’s not forget that the BBiden’s regime’ has lied about everything since the primaries and whatever Russia decides — they take the opposite. Why? ORANGE MAN!

Yes, they want to be free of neo-Nazi Azovs and Ukrainian nationalists that seek to persecute those of Russian ethnicity.

Ukraine signed the Minsk Agreement that would have stopped the war. But, the Azovs kept threatened another revolution rather letting it be implemented.

It's our meddling that created the civil war. We fomented a revolution in 2014 that split the country.

This could become the future of the United States...government power being misused to flatten dissidents. I can easily envision a scenario where Texas or Florida or Alaska decides its had enough and breaks away.

“Ukraine signed the Minsk Agreement that would have stopped the war”

The Minsk agreement was a surrender to Putin forced on Ukraine by Obama.

But, apparently BeijingBiden convinced his favorite money launderer (Zelynskyy) that a war was a better option.

All to cover up Biden's corruption and the Uniparty using Ukraine as their favorite money laundering operation. Dirty hands on both the (D.) and (R.) side.

I’m not taking Russia’s side.

Statements of fact are what they are.

But, let’s not forget that the BBiden’s regime’ has lied about everything since the primaries and whatever Russia decides — they take the opposite. Why? ORANGE MAN!

If I may, typically when a statement if followed by "But" it means everything to the left of "But" is a lie.

I think what you meant was "I’m not taking Russia’s side. And, let's not forget ...

With that correction, concur with your entire post.

Hi, since you're going to continue with this Ukrainian Nazi BS, here's a reminder for everyone who sees what you write that more than 80% of the people in the Donbas region voted for independence from Russia when given the choice. This neo-commie independence movement written about here is an astroturf operation led from Moscow.

This war would not be happening today had Kiev obeyed the Minsk Agreement which they signed. Under the Minsk agreement, Luhansk and Donetsk would have local autonomy - but the deep state warmongers just couldn’t stand that.

“A while back there was a Minsk agreement in which Ukraine gave up these regions — the Donbas area.”

No. The Minsk agreements were all clear that the separatists would have local autonomy but that Ukraine would have control over ALL international borders - meaning the separatist regions would be firmly in Ukrainian territory.

“But, apparently BeijingBiden convinced his favorite money launderer (Zelynskyy) that a war was a better option.”

Zelensky was not president in 2015 when the separatists violated the agreements by taking the Donetsk airport in battle. Zelensky became president FOUR YEARS LATER. That’s 3 years after Biden left office as VP.

For all those idiots out there who think the Ukrainians are the real warmongers I have a simple question: Why didn’t the Ukrainians wage total war on the separatists between 2015 and 2022? Why didn’t they call up their entire army, go for complete mobilization, instead of fighting a barely there sitzkrieg for 8 years?

I just don’t understand what it is about this war that has made so many Freepers stupid. I just don’t get it.

“Yes, they want to be free of neo-Nazi Azovs and Ukrainian nationalists that seek to persecute those of Russian ethnicity.”

There was no such persecution in Eastern Ukraine in 2014 when this started. Try again.

Just like when Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement. All was solved.

Meanwhile, back in reality, if you sign a treaty that bans you from having allies other than the country wanting you to sign that treaty nothing good will come from it. That treaty was demanding that Ukraine stand alone for their eventual conquest.

Either side-they will not quit fighting.

BTW, it was just not the Poles the Ukrainian nationalist killed..it was every ethnic minority in the area.
And that are did not stop fighting after the signing of German surrender. It kept going on and this war is the culmination of that.
Russians and Ukrainians are barbaric.
