The invasion of non-NATO Kuwait might be a template for a world-wide mobilization and shock and awe march into Moscow, and Russia actually has WMD, but Japan and others aren't going to pay for this one. Also, we don't really want to create another huge power vacuum to benefit China, our real competition these days.

Ok, this is a flat out lie. You should ask the FSB to give you better material.
There are three problems with your statement:
1. It wasn’t Zelensky. It was the Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council. Ukraine is a democracy and its president does not act unilaterally on things like this.
2.They didn’t ban any parties. They suspended them from engaging in any political activities while the country is at war.
3.It wasn’t all opposition parties. It was parties that have supported Russia — the enemy. Most of them are very small with no representation in parliament. The largest has just under 10% of the seats in parliament (13% if you exclude Crimea’s seats which are currently vacant because it hasn’t been possible to hold elections due to the Russian occupation since 2014).
Out of the various political parties in Ukraine, those suspended were a handful of political parties (there are still more than two hundred political parties in Ukraine) which were promoting Putinism or similar Russia-friendly positions. Those parties were only suspended, not entirely banned.

Russian is commonly spoken in the street, especially in certain towns. Anyone in the service industry or the government fluent in it and will provide service to you
Education in Russian is allowed in public elementary schools, and in any private schools. Russian is allowed “on an official level,” but the state language must be available.
Russian is protected by Ukrainian constitution as minority language and can be studied up to 5th grade in school.
Many Ukrainian politicians speak and campaign in Russian.
Russian is a native language of the President himself and he speaks him on many occasions, though on official duties he uses Ukrainian.
There are cities in Ukraine that are predominately Russian-speaking like Odessa or Kharkiv.
