'I have no words, it was my son': Husband of woman, 26, arrested for abortion in Texas slams her decision to terminate their child as it's revealed he filed for divorce on DAY of her arrest

The husband of a Texas woman arrested for aborting her baby has revealed the fetus was a boy - and that they filed for divorce on the day she was apprehended.

Ismael Herrera said: 'I have no words...it was a son. A boy,' when asked about what his estranged wife Lizelle Herrera had done in Starr County, Texas, earlier this month.

Herrera also told Noticias48, how he'd only discovered that his 24 year-old ex had taken the abortion pills on reading about her subsequent arrest in news reports.

She was charged with murder, but that charge was later dropped by Starr County DA Gocha Ramirez, who has since apologized.

Filmed in the reflection of a dirty mirror, with his voice altered to mask his identity, Ismael told the Spanish language station that he found out that just days after he split from Lizelle Herrera that she had been pregnant.

It is unclear why they split, and whether that was what prompted Herrera to terminate the pregnancy.

The couple were married in 2015 when she was 19, according to the Washington Post, have two sons together, though they couple separated in January.

Starr County, Texas authorities arrested Lizelle Herrera on April 7, the same day her partner of 8 years filed for divorce.

The hospital where she sought treatment after the abortion apparently reported her to the local Sheriff Rene 'Orta' Fuentes, but she should have never been charged under Texas law.

The county prosecutor, recently-elected Democrat Gocha Ramirez, 68, dropped the murder charge against Lizelle Herrera on Sunday and ordered her released from jail, saying it was all a mistake.

Sounds like his first language is Spanish...hasn’t picked up on all of the subtle nuances of woke English. He’s even assigned a gender to a child in the womb.

Gynocentric countries do not care what men want.

We live in one. Time to change that crap.

Article doesn’t seem to say exactly when she took the abortion pills.

Well she knew the gender of the child so after the first trimester. Gender is usually found on an ultrasound between 18 and 22 weeks

The article said the fetus was a male. She must have been past 12 weeks.

I didn’t think you were supposed to take those drugs that late, or if it’s even legal to do so.

This article does not help their cause. He has just divorced her because she “killed his son”. This is a strong message to other men out there who have had to put up with this since roe vs wade. I sure hope other men listen and do the same. If she does not want your baby she does not want you. (same goes for the woman get rid of a man who wants you to abort).

"she should have never been charged under Texas law"

Not the first time I've seen this.. Is this true? (It IS murder, after all.)

Not only was it not legal but she is damn lucky to be alive. She dodged a bullet and is too stupid to know it.

The next woman who tries this may not be so lucky.

You should know by now, when it comes to kids, men have no rights (I know this first-hand).

To my understanding she should have been charged. I can’t understand why the charges were dropped. None of this makes sense. Why have the fetal heartbeat law if they will not enforce it.

Probably because the Roe vs. Wade amendment says that a fetus isn’t a person.

It was the defense a late, abortion doctor’s lawyer gave when the doctor was sued/charged for attempted murder, for tearing off an infant’s limb. 1992. It was a long, time, ago.

This reads like a Babylon Bee comedy sketch.

The Texas Heartbeat Act (THA) is civil law.

It is impossible to be arrested for a criminal offense based on anything written in the THA.

The THA does not ban anything. The THA grants private citizens the right to sue abortion providers under certain circumstances.

Only two possible explanations here...

The author is an ignoramus.

Or, this a deliberate, spectacular, political deception.
