Trump Had Every Reason to Endorse Dr. Oz

The reaction by some to Donald Trump’s endorsement of Dr. Mehmet Oz in the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania seems a bit over the top. I mean, I get it on some levels: Oz isn’t great on the issues, isn’t a conservative rockstar (as if Pennsylvania produces any), and is an unknown commodity in electoral politics (see Trump, Donald J., circa 2015). But everyone needs to take a deep breath and understand that Oz is 10 times better than former hedgefund CEO Dave McCormick. And in Trump’s mind, maybe 50 times better.

*Pennsylvania “Republican” Senator Arlen Specter, and “moderate” Republicans we’re not very good at producing genuinely consistent conservative office holders.*

Specter came through on Alito/Thomas.

*For every unknown commodity that turns out to be like Trump, there are 9,999 unknown commodities that turn out to be secret Democrats.*

Without term limits the voters can limit them to one term. Who’s gonna step up?

“Oz will not be a 90% traitor. He’ll be WITH us 90%.”

Yeah, so was McCain. The problem is, the 10% is always the time when their vote matters most, that’s why they do it.

if you add poop to a 5 star lobster bisk, its no longer 5 star lobster bisk. its poop soup. Trump just added poop (Oz, the child transgender supporting, Christian hating , lying muslim) to his soup. sorry, not ordering anything from the menu.

Not an OZ fan. He’s hollywood bizzaro world. Says a few right things, does more wrong things. I don’t connect to him.

I don’t want someone loyal to Trump. I want someone loyal to the people. I’m bothered by the willingness, based on one man, to take our party to the left. We are no longer inching to the left, we are running to and embracing it.

Oh Please, Oz has tons of baggage!

Kathy Barnette is true MAGA and Carla Sands is also better.

Oz hasn’t lived in PA and only used his in-laws address when he wanted to run. Strictly a TV personality. Trump made a big mistake endorsing him and only picked him because of his TV popularity. I think Trump’s string of winning endorsements stops here.

“Dr.OZ said that he supports the Chinese method of ‘quarantine/total lock down’ to contain covid,
as the Chinese are doing now in Shanghai.”

You are being EXTREMELY deceptive. Oz said that about lockdowns two years ago, along with most everybody, since they thought it aligned with traditional quarantines.

He has not said a word about the Shanghai lockdowns currently underway.

I don’t like Dr. Oz at all. He’s got that fake, plastic Hollywood style. And until recently he didn’t even live in Pennsylvania.

But he’d better than any Democrat senator, I guess.

No. I will not "deal with it."

Trump's continued horrible judgement on hiring and endorsements shows that he is still being advised by idiots and losers and that Trump has not learned one damn thing from his failures.

He should not run again.

Oz is more like 80% Romney. He’s hardcore liberal. I’m not in PA, but I wouldn’t vote for him for dog catcher.

Trump has a lot of good points but he really SUCKS at choosing people. Just look at his Admin....

Please. Oz is Romney part II, with a healthy dose of taqiyya thrown in for good measure.

Lining up behind him is nearly as stupid as Trump's picks for Attorney General.

I don’t want someone loyal to Trump. I want someone loyal to the people.

Careful now. Loyalty to Dear Leader Donald is the only thing that matters to the Trump cultists around here. They no more care about "the people" of this country than does the dimwitted narcissist Trump.

A Senator Oz will turn his back on us? Perhaps but 100% left is a bridge too far. Even Santorum went stale.

You’re oblivious to tradecraft/infiltration, are you? After Trump’s 4 years of being stabbed in the back and attacked from within the government itself?

A glass of wine with poison is 99.9% non-fatal.

Does that make it a good choice?

That Reagan quote is simpleton.

I’ve done a 180-degree change on Oz over the last week. I’m fine with him because he’s a clown who would be a great alternative to the hacks and A-holes who dominate our political scene.

Something worth noting here is that a candidate in a statewide PA race who has strong appeal here on FR is likely to be a total loser in November.

“90% is abysmal. Liz Cheney voted with Trump 93% of the time, and she’s a disaster.”

That venemous cow voted to impeach Trump.

Oz will be a MAGA Trump loyalist.

I am not for the Dr OZ. He's running more on celebrity then anything else and what does he really know about Pennsylvania? He’s another example as to why the 17th Amemdnment should be repealed. So its another prom king\queen type of election. However that being said its Pennsylvania's business.

Also people should always keep in mind that prior to running and being elected Trump was viewed as a “New York Republican” (if a Republican at all!). He governed more effectively then Reagan which was a huge surprise to me. I expected his administration to be the “Rockefeller Administration that never was!”; at least it wasn't Hellary! I was more then pleasantly surprised to the point of being ecstatic.

Ok on the whole such endorsements shouldn't surprising!
