With Joe Biden's waiver of E15 Ethanol, maybe citizens of NYC, Washington (DC), Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City - probably should expect more SMOG Alerts.
There is a reason the E15 restriction during summer is part of the CLEAN AIR ACT. More SMOG is generated by alcohol evaporation in Summer than other times.
CNN has the SCIENCE behind it in the following article:
What are the pros and cons of E15 gas? Here’s what to know about Biden’s order
Seed to grow commercial corn is sold in bags.

That was the reference (by about $6 a bag according to one poster, up from $4 to $10 a bag) sorry for the confusion
I have a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria that was a police car, 266K miles on it, it’s on it’s 3rd transmission (replaced twice before I got it—I just got $150 junkyard transmission for it, it lost 4th gear and I suspect that it just a valve body problem), but the original engine.
I use E10 or E15 gas in it. I’ve tried a 50/50 blend of E85 and E10 in it, too. It ran fine off that, but anymore than a 50/50 mix and it’ll set a lean code because the fuel trim exceeded 25%.
Don’t usually bother with E85 because it’s usually not enough cheaper than E15 to be worth the fuel economy penalty...but E15 is often cheaper enough than E10 that it is (the fuel economy penalty for E15 is, in my experience, insignificant, you won’t notice it).
Biden is not running the show. Obama is. And it is intentional destruction from a third world thug Kenyan dictator.
Joe Biden doesn’t have a clue what the hell is going on around him, he just does what he is told, YES this is deliberate HOWEVER it is Obama calling the shots and destroying the country this is Obama’s 3rd term BANK ON IT!! He didn’t have time to finish the destruction in his first two terms so they threw Joe in there KNOWING he has dementia and they could do whatever they wanted!! The republicans KNEW Joe was not capable of running the country, they KNEW the election was stolen THEY DID NOTHING!!! Don’t be surprised when they are voted right back into office BECAUSE they have an R next to their name, we get what we deserve!!
Those Crown Vics are impressive.
I’ve ridden in a few that were taxicabs down in Florida with over 400,000 miles.
The Gray New Deal.
“Lead is BAD for any higher life forms on this planet, period.”

Right in there with the anti-DDT crowd. Its settled science, don’tcha know.
Chewing on lead toothpaste tubes was a favorite for many of us older crowd as very young kids - including the WWII Generation kids.
—
“That’s because they never make it to old age! That you didn’t consider that possibility makes me worry about the effects of lead, because I am also ‘mature’.”’
—
Not making it to old age was neither a consideration nor the point. They are stupider about personal survival - the inference is that the ethanol is doing it.
The negative health effects of lead are well-documented.

As is climate change ...
My guess, they want the smog so they can point it out as part of their “Fossil Fuels Bad Agenda” in a couple months AFTER everyone forgets Brandon was the one who made it happen. The story will get RATholed thanks to a complicit media and that will be that. Another manufactured nail in the coffin of gas powered everythings.
And smoking too.
Hell, my dad smoked a pack a day for decades...
...and spent the last 2 years of his life on an oxygen machine.
This one had the original water pump on it when I replaced it at about 240k. Date code on the pump was 10/03. And it didn’t even fail by leaking, just making a horrible noise. What an easy job to replace the water pump, 15 minutes and it’s out. You’ll spend more time cleaning up the coolant that spilled out.
I put a trailer hitch on it and I’ve used it for towing a utility trailer.
And any parts you might need for it are easy to get, even though it’s almost 20 years old.
I honestly think biden doesn’t know.
His handlers sure do though, and this is all deliberate.
Lower energy density paid for by federal subsidies. Yep, great idea.
And ethanol fuels have little influence on body rust or transmission failures.”
Ethanol sure has an influence on fuel system rust though. It attracts water. Water is heavier than ethanol or gasoline. Goes right to the bottoms of carburetors and fuel tanks. I have personal experience with this.
Even if it was 50 cents a gallon, I wouldn’t run E85 where I live. It isn’t popular, it diesn’t “move” week to week at the gas station, and who knows how much water is in it BEFORE it ever hits your fuel tank. I note that the local BP near me sells it bit it’s marked NOT A BP PRODUCT. NOT SUBJECT TO BP GUARANTEE or words to that effect.
Yeah, lets fly AF1 out to IA to conserve our petroleum supply.
