I used to keep a record of my (cars) MPG. I found the mileage was affected in direct proportion to the amount of ethanol.
This was in a few different vehicles. E-10 would result in a 10% drop in MPG.

Trump is yugely in favor of E15.

One of his larger drawbacks.

Yes, leaded gasoline, that way we can have more low-IQ retards with health problems that end up on disability!

Ethanol does give less mileage than gas. It also will attack and eat through any rubber or aluminum in your fuel system. Another thing is it will wash down your cylinder walls, starving your pistons and piston rings of lubricant. Because of that it will also degrade the crankcase oil. The higher the ethanol percentage, the quicker it will eat your engine.

This move by Biteme gels well with his idiotic “too bad, just go buy an electric vehicle”

“leaded gasoline”

Yes is was better for the valves and piston rings but it really stank.

I had a 1976 Simplicity Snowblower that I ran leaded racing fuel(110 Octane) through. It had a Briggs & Stratton engine with a downdraft(piece of crap) carburetor. It was the only fuel I found that the machine ran well on. However, every time I got done with the driveway my clothes needed to be washed from the lead smell. Not to mention, smelling the exhaust probably was not the best thing for ME.

Fake news - all of the older folks here grew up with leaded gas and most of us re quite healthy for our ages.

In fact, it seems to me its the younger crowd that grew up with ethanol gas that continually win Darwin Awards.

Yeah, that’s right - burn even MORE of our food in our auto engines.

Isn’t this f’ing moron the guy who said 2 weeks ago that we’re going to face food shortages. Not only does he keep admitting more (useless) mouths to eat even more of the food that we’re not going to have, but now this.

We are living in the Bizarro World, where the guy living in the White House does everything possible to hurt this nation.

Farmer’s who have held on to last season’s corn will see an increase in prices.

by about $6 a bag according to one poster, up from $4 to $10 a bag

Commercially grown corn is not measured by the bag. It is measured by the bushel (shelled). Whoever made the statement about bags of corn didn’t know what they were they were talking about. I have 50+ years experience selling corn. Seed to grow commercial corn is sold in bags.

Newer, tighter tolerance engine designs won’t do that.

The negative health effects of lead are well-documented.

1. Those remaing people, yes. Lead is BAD for any higher life forms on this planet, period.
2. That’s because they never make it to old age! That you didn’t consider that possibility makes me worry about the effects of lead, because I am also ‘mature’.

For the last 5 years I’ve been using E10 in my riding mower.

I put it away in the garage every fall without draining the gas, and it starts right up again in the spring with no problems.

Whatever the problems E10 causes with small engines, I’ve not seen them.

Worth noting that south of the border, lead salts (called “greta” or “azarcon” are used as a folk remedy for an upset stomach.

I wonder if that might explain a few things..

Newer engines also don’t run pig rich. Seriously, if an engine is getting gas in the oil it either needs a tuneup or a rebuild.

Do you think all those beaters on Craigslist with 200,000 miles had owners who fastidiously sought out E0 fuels?

Don’t most vehicles end up in the junkyard due to electrical problems, rust, or transmission problems?

Seems like the engine is the least likely reason for a vehicle to end up in the junkyard, assuming that it wasn’t overheated and wasn’t run low on oil and got regular oil changes...

I agree with your view.
And ethanol fuels have little influence on body rust or transmission failures.
