Questions Loom After Verdicts in Whitmer ‘Kidnapping’ Trial

What did top government officials know and when did they know it?

It’s impossible to overstate the significance of the verdicts handed down last week for four men charged with conspiring to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in 2020 and use a “weapon of mass destruction” in the process.

Despite sworn testimony from several FBI experts and agents—including the primary FBI informant, Dan Chappel, who was compensated at least $60,000 by the bureau for his involvement—endless federal resources, and favorable rulings by the judge to withhold evidence and testimony, a jury of 12 Americans rejected the government’s case in cold fashion on Friday in a Grand Rapids courtroom. The Justice Department did not win a single conviction; two men walked free after 18 months in prison and two men remain behind bars as prosecutors prepare to re-try them after a hung jury could not agree on their guilt.

What the jury did agree on, however, is that the Federal Bureau of Investigation engaged in entrapment. Defense attorneys, with the consent of Chief District Court Judge Robert Jonker, argued that the FBI attempted to induce their clients into committing the alleged kidnapping crime.

“When I look at what happened in this case, I am ashamed of the behavior of the leading law enforcement agency in the United States,” Joshua Blanchard, the lawyer representing Barry Croft Jr., who was not acquitted last week, told jurors in his closing statement.

Another defense attorney, Christopher Gibbons, said it was “unacceptable” that the federal government framed the men under the guise of thwarting a domestic terror attack. “They don’t make terrorists so we can arrest them,” Gibbons said.

That is, of course, precisely what the Justice Department and FBI did—and it was not just about a few rogue agents.

This came from the top. It was a leftist campaign contribution to get the HORRIBLE Whitmer reelected. It is eerily similar to the January 6 hoax.

The left will add the right to trial by jury to the first and second amendments for elimination. They make it tough for fascists.

The FBI cannot be fixed. Get rid of it. Ban all current employees from ever having another federal job.

Not in 2020. She was elected to her first 4-year term in 2019. She' up for re-election this year in 2022.

If the FBI can initiate and lead a bunch of morons to think they can kidnap a sitting Governor and build bombs in the process, could they setup a similar situation with real criminals to actually carry out such a plot.

For example, Trump gets reelected as POTUS, he fires a bunch of rogue Federal Bureaucrats including Chris Wray, what’s to stop the Government from recruiting a couple of stooges that have real criminal intent to carry out an assassination of Trump, ala Lee Harvey Oswald, given how rogue our government is, I believe it’s possible.

Interestingly, I have a close relative, (I’ll leave it at that), that recently graduated from Quantico. When he first mentioned he wanted to be an FBI agent I thought he would have a major problem because of his political views. Big time Trump supporter, capitalist, the whole nine yards. He was not shy about his social media postings and his mom and dad are also staunch conservatives. Yet surprisingly he was accepted and now is officially a new FBI agent. Part of me thinks this is a good sign, but part of me wonders if they’ll get in his head and change him.

In fact, judges have already nearly abolished jury trials. Between "summary judgements" in which the judges decide civil cases and the nut-cracker pressure of sentencing guidelines in criminal cases, there are few jury trials these days.

"Between 1962 and 2013, the percentage of civil cases resolved through jury trials dropped from 5.5% to 0.8%; use of jury trials in federal criminal cases declined from 8.2% to 3.6% over the same period ...." Jury trials are disappearing. Here’s why.

The power elite don't want the unwashed to have any say in government.

No, it wasn't to get Whitless reelected, it was to smear Trump supporters by making them look like extremist terrorists. The "plot" was announced by the FBI on October 8, 2020, just before the November elections.

Whitless is up for reelection this November.

This isn’t over. The jury trial showed the FBI to be the prime conspirator in the plot to kidnap Governor Whitmer. There were far more government agents and informants operating this scam than there were defendants. The charge judge maintained that it was not entrapment. But charge judges don’t get the final word on entrapment. Juries do.

The FIB’s actions have placed so much egg on their faces that they feel they must prosecute the two remaining defendants. The two defendants who copped light sentences in return for their testimony have to be looking at the two acquitted defendants with envy.

The plot to kidnap Whitmer would not have existed without the FBI. The FBI is public enemy number one. Who is going to prosecute the prosecutors?

Read the full article, folks. The FIB was planning a similar false flag on Governor Black Face of Virginia.

I wish I could claim that that is “unbelievable.” Sadly, I can’t - it’s entirely believable. It’s also pathetic - and beyond dangerous to our liberties.

I pray the government’s arrogance collapses the entire scheme in the retrial of the remaining two MI defendants. With the first two acquittals, defense can focus entirely on entrapment rather than, as in the first trial, having to fight so hard just to admit that claim in court.

I suspect there's a toxic WOKE/commie/elite culture at the FBI.... people so vile they feel Americans who oppose democrats are the enemy. In short the true insurrectionists ...

It's time for the FBI - the agency that started the War on Cops with their BS 75 agents to Ferguson - and 60 agents to NASCAR for a garage pull - to join other filth in the dust bin of history. After all the hope and trust we put in them they were nothing but butt boys to corrupt white liberal 'elites'.

You have reasonable fears.

Nearly everyone in any organization, from the family, to corporations, to our government take on the character, morals and decency (or not) of their leaders.

Good luck to your close relative, but the uncorrupt will have troubles in corrupted institutions.
