Is Rep. Kevin McCarthy's pledge to not impeach Biden for political purposes an act of surrender before the battle begins?

Yesterday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy appeared on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.

During the interview, Bartiromo played a clip of Republican Congressman Greg Murphy saying that Biden has committed impeachable offenses but members of Congress are reluctant to impeach Biden because the next in line of power is Kamala Harris in whom few have confidence.

When Bartiromo followed up asking McCarthy if he was considering moving forward with impeachment (if they win a majority in the House during the mid-terms).

McCarthy responded as follows:

"Look the one thing we learned that the Democrats did, is they used impeachment for political reason. We believe in the rule of law. We're not going to pick and choose just because somebody has power," McCarthy said, adding that "at any time if someone breaks the law" impeachment may be considered "but we're not going to use it for political purposes."

....sad, but true.....the only word I could think of when I read this article was these people’s approach to this miserable Biden administration, and the fact that Sleepy Joe should be impeached, was “flaccid”.....usually used in conjunction with the...ah....er....male anatomy.....

“Look the one thing we learned that the Democrats did, is they used impeachment for political reason.”

When someone starts a sentence with “look”, then look out. They’re either about to tell a lie, or they’re telling the listener to shut up. Or both.

I think we keep ur mouths shut about impeachment. We know he is guilty of crimes, wait until the truth comes out then don’t talk about it, do it.

The three impeachment’s against Trump were purely political. It needs to stop. High crimes.

The problem for MAGA movement isn’t political weakness - we have many times the political power the Left has. Political power comes from the people - and they are squarely on our side.

Our problem is a the near-total media monopoly enjoyed by the Left.

Until we break that monopoly, and gain the ability to have the truth widely heard and robustly defended, political victories will be meaningless.

What good is winning elections if the people can be convinced they lost?
What good is the truth if it can never be heard?

This was the the unique power of President Trump - that he shook the foundations of the Leftist media monopoly - hopefully, he’s not done yet.

If Biden Junior is found guilty of crimes, surely a trial of Biden Senior must follow. That trial, even if only debated in the citizen’s Hall of Justice, will be cause for impeachment.

Biden ought to be impeached for violation of protecting our borders, as Article IV, Section 4, of the Constitution of the United States explicitly states regardless of no chance of conviction by the uniparty senate.

The GOPe/establishment/sellouts/dems/MSM etc. and rats would call it political, I think not.

They need to act of course. But not talking about the obvious fact Biden has broken the law many times over, perhaps the only thing most Americans will agree on, only serves to arouse greater distrust and suspicion. It forces the issue politically beyond that and starts a debate over his succession.

Once again I can’t agree with the RINO. Somehow he believes he can work within a broken and corrupt system:

1. Hunter Biden family laptop prove the entire family, and Joe Biden is compromised. It’s more than just breaking the law, it’s Treason and the Republic.

2. The FIB refusing to act on the information, and not even checking into evidence, proves we no longer have rule of law

3. Journalism is essentially dead when the Public isn’t told the truth about a former Vice President selling out his own nation.

Joe’s gotta Go. He lied and Ukrainians have died. If it’s Harris, then let us revisit “Natural Born Citizen” at the SCOTUS level. If it’s Nancy Pelosi, then that’s the bed Voter Fraud and Ballot Trafficking bought. Scorch the political earth to start anew with clean elections and truth to the people.

Well said. I don't like McCarthy as leader and I'd like to see a change. Jordan, I suppose, or someone else who actually fights, but in this case McCarthy has a point and he seems to be choosing his words carefully. A political impeachment that will go nowhere isn't worth.

That doesn't mean I support McCarthy as a future Speaker, because I don't.

“Turtle will prevent it passing in the Senate”

Stop the nonsense.

Jesus Christ couldn’t get 67 votes in the Senate to remove Biden.

I think telegraphing what you are going to do is stupid. He should just say impeachment is a very serious act that is reserved for high crimes and misdemeanors and should never be politicized. If we start convicting before a trial we show the same disregard for the rule of law that the Dems have shown.

Of coarse we will bring charges, We just shouldn’t be talking about it until it’s time.

McCarthy is just advertising why he can’t be Speaker when the Republicans retake the House. Just say “no” to RINOs.

So i am confused...is it political to impeach him for ruining this nation? Open borders? Rampant inflation? International conflicts of interests? Energy instability? Overall incompetence? I mean the democrats set the bar for impeachment very very low...sooooooo.....

I have listen to it. There was no pledge of never impeach Biden!
Just a politician way of avoiding straight answer.
He basically said that there would not be impeachment for impeachment sake (like the last two), but only if there is an evidence of real crimes committed.
Anyway, impeaching Biden is a bad idea. Consider the alternative!

While they had Trump in the presidency Democrats knew that they could count on the country being run effectively no matter what criminal acts they tried against Trump. With Biden in the presidency this country teeters on insolvency and disaster. If the new Republican majority were to pull the same dirty tricks against Biden which the Democrats pulled against Trump then abject failure awaits this country.
