Is Rep. Kevin McCarthy's pledge to not impeach Biden for political purposes an act of surrender before the battle begins?

Yesterday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy appeared on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.

During the interview, Bartiromo played a clip of Republican Congressman Greg Murphy saying that Biden has committed impeachable offenses but members of Congress are reluctant to impeach Biden because the next in line of power is Kamala Harris in whom few have confidence.

When Bartiromo followed up asking McCarthy if he was considering moving forward with impeachment (if they win a majority in the House during the mid-terms).

McCarthy responded as follows:

"Look the one thing we learned that the Democrats did, is they used impeachment for political reason. We believe in the rule of law. We're not going to pick and choose just because somebody has power," McCarthy said, adding that "at any time if someone breaks the law" impeachment may be considered "but we're not going to use it for political purposes."

I think they should impeach until they get the new, Republican Speaker of the House into the presidency, but it needs to be someone other than McCarthy.

We have GOT to get McCarthy out of the leadership position. Same goes in the Senate with the Turtle.

They are both RINO surrender monkeys.

Impeaching Joe Biden is something the House MUST do and that needs to be immediately.

No one - including Biden - should be impeached for political purposes.

Starting with Clinton, it was a serious error to impeach a President with zero possibility of conviction.

It was true then, and it’s been true throughout the Trump years, and it’s still true today.

Is this guy a retard?

Who is next in line is irrelevant to a political temper tantrum impeachment with exactly zero chance of 67 Senators voting to convict.

What exactly would be the point of impeaching Biden? Why give him an opportunity for “victimhood” status?

There is absolutely no way 67 senators would agree to remove him from office.

By definition, impeachment is a political process. Although the Constitution is fairly clear on the grounds for impeachment, what actually constitutes “High Crimes and Misdemeanors” is up to the House of Representatives. In addition, even with a red wave election, it is extremely unlikely that Republicans will control two-thirds majority of the Senate needed for conviction. So, as has been the last three impeachment efforts, it all boils down to political theater.

Not so. They are gutless winners...they always produce wins for the uniparty who’s sole purpose is to keep the money flowing in D.C.

Politically is it better to allow Biden and be the demented fool he is or attempt to remove him with no chance of success

To me it’s the former, if Hunter Biden’s crimes implicate “the big guy” as I’m sure they will the Democrats will force him out because of he utter destruction he will cause

Picking and choosing his words so as to seem reasonable filled with righteousness. Yeah, whatever. Why doesn’t he just say that with Harris, people are begging to go from the frying pan into the fire?

It is now very clear for those that could not see this in the past, wake up!

McCarthy is not a leader that wins. He is a ‘moderate’ just like McConnell. Nothing more than a cheap fool in an expensive suit.

Something is wrong with Trump if he doesn’t get rid of Kevin McCarthy.

That actually makes sense. If Biden is impeached it will be because of actual crimes that can't be overlooked, not because Republicans want to score political points -- and impeachments for frivolous reasons don't actually score points with the voters. The more likely development, though, is that revelations, controversy, fear of impeachment, poor health, and supporters' and puppetmasters' advice get Biden to step down.

The short term advantage at least in going the impeachment route is that it could also bring Harris down. Besides there is no possible way to overlook the magnitude of these crimes, even disregarding the laptop emails.

Clinton committed perjury, which strikes at the very heart of our legal system. He should have been impeached and removed from office at the very least.
