I remember seeing this some years ago, and was kind of amazed. It’s rare, but it happens:

Yes, I noticed that after someone mentioned it.

With all the sleuths here, someone will figure it out ;-)

Yeah. I’ve seen some strange things that came into the taxidermist’s shop. Trans-deer, or bucks that have had testicular injuries.

wooaww! Those antlers are huge! wonder if they give the deer a headache. It's a crown they can never take off!

The deer sure are beautiful!

They drop off every year, and immediately begin growing back.

From what I can tell, some of the antlered does may be hermaphrodites; but some are apparently normally female except for a hormone imbalance and too much testosterone.

Antlers fall off annually.

Horns don’t, except for one species which I can’t remember now...

I’m not sure if this was ever admitted to be a put-on; it probably was, but it’s pretty funny:

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I knew a couple of guys that worked for the USPS in SoCal, back in the ‘60s. When you harvested a deer in Cali. you had to take it to a post office, and have the postmaster verify it. They knew a guy that had a couple of antlers he’d screw into the skulls of does.

Looks like a bulls-eye on the big guy’s throat. Nice of him to wear that.
