Authorities say three people are dead after a robbery at a gun range in Georgia.
The Grantville Police Department said via Facebook that the robbery occurred Friday evening. When officers arrived at the scene around 8 p.m., they discovered the owner of Lock Stock & Barrel Shooting had been killed, along with his wife and grandson.

Grantville has a very ‘diverse’ population and that trend is accelerating. It’s kinda ‘greater Newnan’ and have stopped there for fuel in the evening hours and seen the outcomes of that trend ...
Local color, or some of our “guests” visiting by way of our southern border.
It would appear that whomever they are, they're ignorant enough to believe that taking a video camera removes the video evidence of the crime.
LE ought to be able to get the video from the security company's standalone server and be on their trail by, right about now actually.
(Not to mention whatever other cameras were on the property, but hidden. Like in the parking lot...)
Horrifying. Grandpa, Grandma and the grandson.
Horrifying. Grandpa, Grandma and the grandson.
Wrong people died, sad
sounds like someone may have known what to take. I hope you’re right but something sounds off. more info needed
Its certain to be either that or some early-released local talent.
Either way it will be law abiding citizen gun owners who’ll be made to sacrifice.
It could have been anyone for all we know about it at this point.
Assuming the motive was in fact robbery (they took 40 guns), someone had to have been there "casing the joint" so they've got him/her/it on video at some point.
Also unless they were just totally naive they would have had a concealed parking lot camera that would have taken their picture coming and going, and their tag number.
Honest cops ought to bust this one before the weekend is done, one would hope.
Is the FBI/ATFon the case ? Unless they can blame it on the boogie man White supremacists, don’t expect much from them .
Horrible. Reminds of an event decades ago when the owner of a favorite gunshop in rural Virginia was murdered and his shop cleaned out by thieves from Portsmouth VA. I was always troubled by the lack of situational awareness of that guy - when I worked at a gunshop, I would always have my weapon drawn and my hand concealed beneath the edge of the counter when hinky people entered the shop.
Grantville (Coweta County) is actually South-West of Atlanta...
...and No far enough either from Atlanta of Columbus (which has More shootings every night on average than GAT-lanta)
If someone had inside knowledge, they may have known the camera was storing video directly to an SD card in the camera. The risk of such a method.
Yikes! When visiting Atlanta I went to that range.
That would be technically possible, one would suppose, but it would be a very mistaken way of doing things, for reasons that would now be obvious.
Your scenario depends upon the equipment used.
It’s very common these days. Risky. Should always go to a storage device somewhere hidden locally or on the cloud. I know several people that simply use an SD card on each camera, so if the camera is taken, the video storage is too.
FBI/ATF “on it” or “in on it”?
Even on a system not connected to a professional security company, video can be transmitted far away to a desktop.
The gun store I frequent transmits to the owner’s home, miles away from the shop.
