It’s very common these days. Risky. Should always go to a storage device somewhere hidden locally or on the cloud. I know several people that simply use an SD card on each camera, so if the camera is taken, the video storage is too.

Even on a system not connected to a professional security company, video can be transmitted far away to a desktop.
The gun store I frequent transmits to the owner’s home, miles away from the shop.

Then you know several people who are making a potentially tragic mistake.
One would hope that such is not the case here and a mistake like this would be a third deviation exception.
