Los Angeles Covid Cases Up 78% In Past Four Days, Although Hospitalizations Show No Sign On Uptick

The good news is that, even with the rising case and test positivity numbers, the new variant and recently lifted restrictions, hospitalizations and deaths are not showing any signs of increase.

The region’s 7-day test positivity has risen 50% since Tuesday, from 0.8% to 1.2% today. That kind of jump in a 7-day average is worth noting, even though the percentages are still very low.

On Tuesday, L.A. County reported 708 new cases. Today, the number had risen 78% to 1,263 new cases, up from 1,088 yesterday.

L.A. County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer expressed some concern this week about recent increases in school outbreaks.

But Ferrer noted that the testing positivity rate still remains very low at school campuses — below the countywide rate.

At this point, they can’t tell the difference between the common cold, omicron, covid and the flu... The chances of dying from it is slight at best, especially if you are relatively healthy.

With/for? Nosocomial? Vaxx-related...?

Complete BS?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Sure they can tell.

They just don’t want to do it.

We are inundated daily with data that has no reference points. X is up 78% over this time last year. There are 798 suicides since January. Gang violence is overwhelming Chicago. I think part of the reason is that the writer simply must generate clicks to get a paycheck. Some of the data supports a political narrative. Some of the data is just for shock value. As a result, we are the most over informed idiots of all time with free floating anxiety blown all out of proportion to what it should be. Are their problems? Sure. Do we need to care about them? Probably not. Yet, every cause, think “Global Warming,” only exists because they can make people anxious and therefore get funding to fuel their expensive cars and luxury travel by private jets.

Another batch of bad test kits? Or, should the region prepare for more brown shirt actions?

From a pure epidemiology standpoint…proving the natural evolution of a virus and pandemic. More contagious and less impactful. BA.2 “stealth” and now “Frankenstein” in England confinie to circulate with no increase in hospitalization or death despite the rapidly increasing denominator.

It’s over. The laws of biology appear reaffirmed and this virus has arrived at a neutral relationship with other species thereby guaranteeing its propagation (endemic) also known as commensalism if I recall the correct word.

You raise a great point. While it’s biologically done, the politics have taken its own course. And Biden and Faulk are demonstrating they are idiots in a box. The right thing to do is declare victory and call it quits like Obama did with the severe influenza epidemic in his presidency (they stopped testing). But Power and unlimited money is driving Fauci to demand more money and power. While the people are sick of it. Biden, being weak, will perpetuate this furthering the divide between even more middle of the road Americans and the idiotic government position.

It’s like watching a train wreck. As I said a few times, this is over when we the people decide it’s over. It now appears that the majority of we the people are deciding to believe what we see instead of what is being told.

Finally.

BA2 is spreading like crazy, but between vaccines and “natural immunity” from the likewise virulent but mild Omicron strain, people are not getting very sick from it.

99.74% survivable by the CDC’s own numbers.

Yet we still allow them to pretend it’s the Bubonic plague.

Marxist Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in April 2020, "test, test, test."

Then some Communist Chinese became wealthy selling tests. Odd, eh?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/giacomotognini/2021/04/06/meet-the-40-new-billionaires-who-got-rich-fighting-covid-19/?sh=4cf104a317e5

Now "cases" from testing are supposed to be "illness," when in fact "asymptomatic" has entered the Covid vocabulary. Hmm. You cannot know whether you are sick without being tested?

The "plague" event, as seemingly reported for years by a hyerventialting media, is for a "virus" with a proven 99.9 percent survival rate. But we can't know if we're ill without a test? Cough.

Better ask the Marxists and Communists! They'll know what to do.

To us.

It’s important to watch what the Chinese do - not what they say. The Chinese still react with panic over Covid even mild strains.

This might be very dangerous and deadly for all of the liberal nuts in LA!:

Covid and Schizophrenia: Why This Deadly Mix Can Deepen Knowledge of the Brain Disease
By April Dembosky, KQED
MARCH 29, 2022

“People with schizophrenia were not actually deemed as ‘the priority vulnerable population’ to be served or to be addressed in the same way as people who had other chronic health conditions and who were over a certain age,” said Myrick, who lives in Los Angeles. “So we kind of got left out.”

This omission occurred even as new data published in JAMA Psychiatry showed that people with schizophrenia were nearly three times as likely to die from covid-19 as the general population. Their risk of death from the virus is greater than it is for people with diabetes, heart disease, or any other factor aside from older age.

“People’s initial reaction to this was one of disbelief,” said Katlyn Nemani, a New York University school of medicine neuropsychiatrist and the study’s lead author.

You sure? It's been 18 months since the vaccine was made. How effective do you really think it is against BA2?

Isn't it more likely that people aren't getting very sick because BA2 is the product of viruses evolving to be weak?

The only thing the Democrat/Communists have to sustain the Fauci Flu fear right now is case numbers ... which are clearly irrelevant. Even with so very many irrationally frightened, breathtakingly ignorant American “men” and women still walking around, the Democrat/Communist Party is going to need something else to achieve their unstated goal of text-in voting for the upcoming election.

Both the vaccine and the progressively weaker stages of the virus are helping reduce the severity of the outbreaks. I still say that for all practical purposes the pandemic is over. Yes, some people will continue to die from it, and others will have serious blood clotting issues from getting severe cases, but most people will fight off these milder strains pretty well, with help from either the vaccine, or a recent infection.

Hong Kong had very high death rates from Omicron, but their elderly population was NOT well-vaccinated, and there was also low rates of natural immunity. Omicron is everywhere in the US right now, but hospitalizations are not rising at all.

The protection from an infection appears to wane quite a bit faster than the protection from a vaccine, but to be quite effective within that narrower window.
