With their options rather limited, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors have just decided that Will Smith will not be able to attend the Oscars for 10 years for slapping Chris Rock on-stage at the 94th Academy Awards on March 27.
“The Board has decided, for a period of 10 years from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events or programs, in person or virtually, including but not limited to the Academy Awards,” said AMPAS president David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson of Smith’s “unacceptable and harmful behavior” in a letter to the full membership after a contentious 9 AM PT starting virtual meeting today concluded. “We also hope this can begin a time of healing and restoration for all involved and impacted,” they added at the end of the letter.

I don’t really care about this entire matter, but honestly, not so much as a word about the little turd making a joke about a his wife’s medical condition?

Considering that these stars need the adulation and attention they receive on the red carpet, this may actually be a fitting punishment.
In ten years there won’t be any Oscar’s.

Rape, pedophilia, assault & battery or any other violence against a white person are all acceptable, but slapping a black person or POC on live TV is stepping over the line and won’t be tolerated.

I put myself under a life-time ban some time ago under the terms of which I am not even allowed to watch the Oscars.
Smith has stayed married to that lying cheating woman and defending her was rather chivalrous. Could have done it verbally though.
