Spanish Tourism Board Forced to Backtrack Over Holidays for Unvaccinated
Evening Standard (U.K.) ^ | 4/7 | Josh Salisbury

Spain’s tourism board in London has U-turned on its suggestion that unvaccinated Britons could now visit the country.

The board had advised Spain would be open to all UK travellers, including the unvaccinated, with no restrictions as long as passengers provided a negative pre-departure test.

But just hours later, it said this was a “mistake” based on an inaccurate reading of Spain’s rules.

The board’s deputy director labelled the announcement a “miscommunication” which arose from a “misinterpretation of the rules” laid out in a Spanish health department bulletin.

Deputy director of the Spanish tourist board in the UK Pedro Medina said in a statement: “We apologise unreservedly for the miscommunication earlier today which was due to a misunderstanding of the new entry requirements.”

The tourist office said: “If more than 270 days have passed since the final dose, certification of a booster vaccination is also required, except for teenagers aged 12 to 17 inclusive.”

Spain extended its Covid entry requirements until the end of the month, putting a spanner in the Easter holiday plans of some from Britain.

It had been thought the rules would be dropped to boost tourism.

Only fully vaccinated Britons or those who can show proof of recovery from Covid can enter the country until April 30.

Those who have been jabbed must be able to prove you were fully vaccinated against Covid within the last 270 days.

If you received your second dose more than nine months ago, you must have had a booster jab to be allowed in.

Teenagers do not need to be vaccinated to enter Spain.

Those that are allowed into the country will still have to wear masks indoors, the government announced.

It had been thought face coverings could be ditched at all times in the UK’s favourite sunshine destination in time for the first busy holiday period of the year.

But Spanish Health Minister Carolina Darias told regional officials on Wednesday the government was not planning on approving the lifting of their mandatory status in public spaces indoors like restaurants and hotels until April 19.

Their mandatory use indoors is expect to end between April 21 or 22 when the new ruling is published in an Official State Bulletin.

Bookings to Spain for the long Easter weekend have already reached 90 per cent of 2019 levels, according to data from market-intelligence firm ForwardKeys.

The Madrid train bombings seem to have knocked the stuffing out of them. Became a feminine society over-night.

This news item is a thing of beauty. The great dissonance now is becoming potential prosperity set against the fear porn generated by the pharmaceutical fascists.

Potential tourists are wanted for their money, but the enforcement of "rules" is set against the so-called unvaccinated. Given that tourism around the world is among the largest contributors to many economies, "rules" forbidding the "pure bloods" from coming to spend tourist dollars can only collide, and the EU's favorite games , "harmonizing" rules, will not answer this except to further erode business recovery after the economic attack of lockdowns.

Most tourism industry employees are middle class, and so this predicts further political reactions for which the elite have not planned. Should be fun to watch.

Hope they like all the Brits cancelling their August holidays in Spain.

Some wealthy globalist control freak greased the right palms, maybe?

I hope Spain loses a lot of tourism money.

I confess to not having known much about him other than a mention of the name on some article or the other. After having cursorily looked, I don't feel much more informed.

We'd spent decades in Germany, so I sometimes need to catch up with the players in the American media. As is said, your need a program to know whose in the cast this evening.

I didn’t know he had gone neo-con until he attacked everyone who didn’t recognize Zelenskyy as the modern day Churchill. Things like that just cause loud buzzing in my head and I just want the noise to stop. When the stars line up behind the defense of the Biden/Deepstate racket you know the times are out of joint.

Spain will likely be paid off by the EU for its co-operation.

As one of the PIIGS, it knows who holds its leash.

Thanks for the clarification. I find it fascinating how some individuals who post with FR seem to "lock step" with certain issues, when more subtlety might be in order. Certainly the Biden "era" is turned ugly as effect follows policies, and you speak truth. "The times are out of joint."

The text of the Declaration of Independence speaks oh so much more clearly to me than when I was young and foolish.
