How many times did they go into the past on this show? Didn't he read the Constitution on an episode? I appreciate that in a Canadian.

This may have been his favorite episode, but being on Columbo taught him how to kill his wife and get away with it.

That’s also my fav episode from the original series.

The Doomsday Machine.
William Windom was great in that one.

My fav episode from "The Next Generation" was the 2-part where they accidentally created an intelligent Moriarty on the holodeck.

That was a great and poignant episode.
Joan’s character reminds me of a lady I grew to know who was similar, down to her beauty, in my early college years.

he could of saved her and saved the past by simply bringing her back with him to the future, thus having the same impact on the past as her dying.

Seems to me the Nazis did win and fascism is taking the planet anyway, so they could have let her live.

Four times as I recall they went back in the past. Now the one where he read the preamble of the Constitution called The Omega Glory took place in the 23rd century.

Writer Harlan Ellison became upset over the revisions made by showrunner Gene Roddenberry and others. I wonder the revisions were and what was Harlan Ellison's original story.

Ellison went on to dedicate his acceptance speech to criticizing producers who adjust writers’ work – with Roddenberry in the audience. So perhaps some of those involved with this episode didn’t quite live up to its moral about letting go of regrets. The essance of 'longing'... that you can't give the regret up. Easily or otherwise.
