The incident took place at the end of February, when Russian military forces invaded the city that is located on the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.
Investigative journalism group Bellingcat published the footage on social media on Tuesday and the video has gone viral. The visual investigations team of the New York Times has independently verified the video of the cyclist being killed by the Russian Army in Bucha.
"As soon as the cyclist rounds the turn, a Russian armoured vehicle fires several high-calibre rounds along the thoroughfare," reads the article.
"A second armoured vehicle fires two rounds in the direction of the cyclist. A plume of dust and smoke rises from the scene.
"Weeks later, after Russia withdrew from Bucha, a body in civilian clothes was filmed beside a bicycle in this precise location in a second video verified by The Times.

A dose of healthy skpeticism is not a bad thing.
Skepticism to the point if someone tells you water is wet and you wont believe him because who that person is, well, thats another thing.
It’s a shame that has to be done. We killed plenty of civilians even kids who were attacking our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I

If that is even true. the US did not deliberately kill them, unlike the Russian Chechen troops.
Caption is wrong. They are Ukrainian police taking down a Russian assassination team.
“When Gorbachev disbanded the former Soviet Union one of the points Reagan agreed to”
Um, Soviet Union broke up during Bush I.
Unfortunately we did in quite a few cases in Afghanistan & Iraq, I had a few colleagues tell me this and some suffered with PTSD over these incidents. When dealing with guerilla warfare or terrorism it’s kill or be killed. It was well documented in American Sniper how Chris Kyle had to deal with this.
30 mm rounds do a lot of damage.
Maybe - but they were exceptions, no policy.
Does this mean you can't supply links to videos and eye witness account that you "believe." Why mention them then?
That was a judgement call for the WF which was approved by the HC in the ROE. Probably the same in the Ukraine too.
Oh, please..Exactly how many wars have you been in? I spent 15 months in combat and never had any occasion at all to target a civilian, much less some guy on a bicycle.
You Russian fans tick me off with your excuse-finding. Feel like excusing the SS while you're at it?/

Not the same - the Russian military is nothing like any Western military - Russian only ROE: Kill them all.
I’ve heard conflicting reports on this. We conducted joint operations with them against ISIS under Trump.
I see a video of a car blowing up.
Who is inside the car? Old people? According to who? An unnamed witness?
”Trust me bro.”
I was thinking the same thing.
This is not ISIS; this is the full RGF in Ukraine against “NAZIS” - totally different situation and ROEs.
Sure they were. Look how you justify the clear unnecessary abuse. You’ve been so fooled by the media that is has turned you into a blood thirst war monger.
Look at you, you are okay with these war crimes. You people have become savages, it’s disgusting.
Check this out from Travis McGhee our points look to be moot.

Putin has reached a point that no place in the world he is safe Xi closes door.
The ones being arrested are accused of looting.
From the very next tweet:
“These are Russian sympathizers accused of looting”
