wildfire that has burned over 100 structures in the hills near Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is nearing full containment, Tennessee Wildland Fire officials said.
Just over 3,700 acres of land have been scorched from the Hatcher Mountain Road/Indigo Lane Fire, but firefighters now report 85% containment.

We had rented a house there to spend Christmas with the family that year; it burned to the ground.
We have had extremely low humidity in and around the area. So bad that they have banned outdoor burning on many different days.

There are always forest fires, it is a natural occurrence, generally caused by lightning.

Sister was nearly cut off in the first one, I told her not to wait for evac orders. Her husband has late stage Duchene’s M.D. and in a wheelchair. Her excuse we have critters. Her eldest daughter has already evac’d. Youngest has no room for them, adult son lives with them. I’m 800 miles away, other end of state.
