"The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time."
Officials did not provide the cause of death for Hawkins' passing.
Prior to the news of Hawkins' death, the band was initially scheduled to perform in Bogotá, Colombia on Friday.

True, them and family members.
Though stars, celebs, musicians and so on are more universal since more people will feel the same at a passing.
Also, many people associate events/people from their younger years with misc pop culturisms - music, movies, TV and such. For example, a person can vividly connect a special someone, a place and time with a certain artist singing this/that song.
And when that artist dies, it’s also a death of part of a memory.

I heard him on Eddie Trunk’s Show a couple of times. He seemed like a good guy.
Taylor struggled with serious drug addiction his whole life. Grohl helped him going back to his younger years. No doubt its related.
