The revelation of Ginni Thomas' text messages with former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows almost immediately drew calls for an event not seen in more than two centuries of American history: the impeachment of a sitting Supreme Court justice.
Late Thursday, the Washington Post and CBS reported that Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, exchanged more than two dozen text messages with Meadows as she pressed to overturn former President Donald Trump's electoral defeat in 2020.
The messages — 29 in total — do not directly reference Clarence Thomas or the Supreme Court. But they have fueled ethics questions that had already been swirling around Thomas, who at 73 is the longest-serving justice on the Supreme Court.
Even before the text messages became public, Justice Thomas faced calls for his retirement or resignation as the New Yorker, New York Times, and other media outlets illuminated his wife's political activism. But the text correspondence brought a new tenor to the pressure on Thomas to step down from the Supreme Court.
"Clarence Thomas should be impeached," wrote Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Minnesota Democrat, in a Twitter post late Thursday.
Sen. Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat, called on Thomas to recuse himself from cases involving the January 6 investigation and 2024 election because his "conduct on the Supreme Court looks increasingly corrupt."
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said it would be up to Thomas to decide whether to recuse from cases involving the investigation into the Capitol attack.

Looks like the Democrats are getting ready to try another high tech lynching of Justice Thomas. They always go after principled, patriotic Black men.
I believe the argument is Thomas was only SCJ who voted no to allowing Trump’s documents to be released when Biden did not assert privileges applied to some of Trump’s documents. There is no proof Justice Thomas knew his wife’s text messages were in any of the requested documents.
So truly, all of this drama will blow over by Tuesday. This country has dire problems and no one seems too focused on underlying issues, it’s all perfomative displays of outrage, that results in nothing happening or changing.
Better call Atticus Finch.

The DNC wants to impeach Clarence Thomas for being a black man married to a white woman, a miscegnator of the worst sort, and a conservative.
(Back in the good old days we Democrats had a group that would take care of folks like him that dared to lay their hands on a white woman. They would find him hanging in the forest. Ah, yes, the good old days!)
President Trump had the election stolen from him; he wasn’t defeated.
The election was overturned in the wee morning hours of November 4, 2020, by the RATS and their evil cohorts.
