NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James this week released police body-worn camera footage from the New York State Police (NYSP) that her office obtained as part of its ongoing investigation into the death of James Huber. Huber died on February 12, 2022, following an encounter with a member of NYSP in Buffalo. Huber was being chased by the Trooper for ‘driving erratically.’

I’m sure this will be determined to be a legitimate use of deadly force but it stinks to me.
Not sure what the driver was reaching for, I assume NYSP didn’t know either.
It sure looked like the guy was reaching for something to me.
Based on ONLY the video...cop’s going down.
It takes a half second to shoot somebody,if that’s what the person question was intending to do.
Listen to the officer. He doesn’t want to kill you, but he also wants to go home himself.
I would have gotten out myself, if that is what the officer ordered me to do.
I don’t think so. The officer is not required to prove he was reaching for a gun. It is too late already if the officer has to wait.
Bkmk
I don’t know what the final decision will be, but remember: Running from the cops by means of a high speed vehicle chase indicates that the person fleeing has a very serious intent to not be interrogated by the cops.
In reading of the final outcome in these events, I have noted that a large number of them are convicted felons, narcotics in the vehicle, vehicle stolen and the felon armed. Not either/or...all three are common.
I believe any cop that has been in uniform for very long knows the odds.
So I would not condemn the cop until we hear the full story.
If someone has his gun drawn at you regardless of who that person is, why would you not cooperate ? Especially if that person seems to be on edge.

Yep, cops just can’t wait to shoot citizens. Looks like the pig shot him point blank and ran backward falling on his murderous pig ass. Think of the potential victims that could have been run down by the pig and perp simply becaus pig has an ego.

Of course not. But from the video it looks like the guy tried to drive off and the cop shot him. Which we just sent a female cop to prison for, even though it was an accident.
It we’ll see.
Your own life is more important regardless of whether the other person is right or wrong.
A frame-by-frame check shows the driver was reaching for a stick shift or automatic shift on the center console.
He appears to pull forward, and the police officer fires, then falls, firing a second shot thru the door as he falls.
The last shot was fired 41 seconds into the video. The direct encounter starts at 30 seconds.
Game over in 11 seconds. The driver has been hit by at least one if not two shots at close range. He was dead even if he didn't know it yet. The rest is cleanup.
Don't know whether this was a "justified" shooting. It seems unwise that the officer reached into the car and attempted to pull the driver out.
Was the person who was shot Black? because that is the only detail that matters.
Yeah we know damn well what the story would be if ol mr Huber were black.
We shall see, but I wonder if all the cops are heaving a sigh of relief, that it wasn’t a black guy?

The cop who shot was not chasing the vehicle. Both were traveling in opposite directions. The cops speed was around 30-40 mph max if you watched the vid.
The cop may have been searching for the vehicle to intercept, which he did as a traffic stop. There were no other persuing LE vehicles.
