If you've seen this ad your ears probably cringe. There has been a modest amount of protesting this ad basically for two reasons.
The ad is a mommy dearest character "mom" who can't be bothered to listen to the grade school band playing out of tune 2001 a space odyssey.
Music teachers are upset, parents are upset, and frankly it makes women look uncaring, not interested in their kids performing, and more interested in me me me.
So it fits our times.
I rate the ad a 1 out of 10. Very annoying.

Nor me. Having sat through elementary school concerts by my daughter and grandkids, I'm quite immune to the sounds. When I first heard it, my initial thought was "Hey - I know that sound!"
Hey, that's Linda Graham's favorite movie! He remembers watching it with his main squeeze John McCain.
I’ve seen that ad but had no idea as to the advertiser. So FAIL.
LOL
I think it’s funny, too.
We have to be able to admit that we’re not perfect in order to laugh at ourselves and too many of our younger people have been told that they’re perfect just the way they are.
The concepts of self-improvement and personal growth are being destroyed by these self-righteous goofuses. Hey, if you’re already perfect there’s no need for change. This is a catastrophic life perspective.
I think the kids’ orchestra in this ad is adorable, and at least they’re trying to learn a skill which requires them to peel their fingers from around their cell phone for a little while every day or so.
An afterthought: the cat doesn’t like it and heaven knows that you’ll be screaming for earplugs if you hear me practicing on my violin! I’ll be laughing with you! :-D
Am I the only one on this site who streams everything and therefore doesn’t have to watch TV ads?
You're the smart one.
No me too. Frankly tv with commercials is so old lady!
All three of my adult kids are musicians and were in band all through school and I thought the commercial was brilliant. I even told my wife about it. The karen’s criticizing online on this thread need to chill out.
this ad was not offensive in the least.
and newsflash- lots of parents go grudgingly to their kids sport and music activities.
Some don’t go at all.
how about not to have any commercials for HIV meds?
The commercial is funny because school bands can be really painful to listen to, even if your own kid is performing. I was the parent - and I received glares for my trouble - who said "please make it stop" out loud during our school band's performance when my son was in sixth grade. It was painful to listen to!
DMA, college music prof here, I laughed my head off the first time I saw it, made it a part of my Music Appreciation course discussion issue of whether classical music is superior to pop.
The Left has no sense of humor, but that, like some primates, is a gibbon.
It was annoying but not much worse than all the others I tune out with sound down 🤪
The ad is terrible but it probably does a good job finding and depicting the brand’s audience
That's too bad.
Probably the best response I've seen :)
Doesn’t offend me, it paints the perfect picture of today’s uncaring self centered moms.
I was married to one of those ladies. I took the kids to church, scouts, birthday parties, etc. - when they were little I would wake up in the middle of the night, feed them and change diapers, hold them, swaddle them up and even put them in the bed with us.
*I* was the bad dad, and was always at fault for something.
And, she had the nerve to call me a narcissist during our 1 (ONE) counseling session with the pastor (she declined to go to any more).
I tend to agree.
