Analysis shows mail-ballot rejections soared under Texas' tougher new voting law

Approximately 23,000 mail ballots were rejected during Texas' recent primary elections, according to on an analysis by the Associated Press. That’s roughly 13% of all mail ballots from the 187 Texas counties that responded to the AP's survey.

County election officials and the Texas secretary of state’s office say most of the rejected mail ballots didn't follow voter identification requirements that came from the state’s new voting rules, which include requiring mail-ballot voters to use the Social Security or driver's license number that correlates with what they used to register to vote. The most rejections were in the Houston area. Harris County election officials say they rejected nearly 7,000 – or 19% – of mail ballots.

Acacia Coronado, a Report for America reporter for the Associated Press, tells Texas Standard that some voters whose mail ballots were rejected also faced challenges trying to correct their ballots by Election Day.

**SNIP**

– The AP didn't find any meaningful difference in ballot rejections between Republicans and Democrats. Coronado says both parties were affected.

– Most counties told the AP that the reason for a majority of the rejections was voters not following the ID requirement, which was a part of the new law passed in 2021. The law now requires voters to put their driver's license or Social Security number on the ballot that matches the number a voter used to register to vote.

A hotbed of fraud and illegals voting gets cold water dumped on it finally.

And the elephant in the room, RCV and the enabled machines, continues to be ignored.

If you are too lazy to get off your ass and walk to a polling station, you’re vote shouldn’t count. If you’re out of the country or living in another state... Fine. But if you live next door to a polling station... No voting by mail. Period!

If you can’t follow simple directions , maybe voting isn’t for you.

The same area where the warehouse storing the ‘vote machines’ burnt down about a decade ago?

Gee, what a surprise. You require actual ID and suddenly a very significant portion of all mail in ballots fail.

I wonder: do the fraudsters get paid by the number of ballots completed or the number of ballots ACCEPTED?!?

If it’s the latter, some people are really not happy about this new law!! LOL!

As long as we have RCV and RCV-enabled voting machines, even if every voter is a legal voter, Deep State can still steal elections.

Only in Liberal La-La-Land is it a bad thing when the person who is voting has to prove that he’s the same person that registered.

It is interesting to read articles like this and to think about how the old A&E show “Investigative Reports” (that featured Bill Curtis as host) could be brought back on Newsmax or Fox News or the Fox Business channels. Vote fraud and initiatives to combat it would certainly be a good subject to discuss.

The found no differences in the party numbers but they did see that the biggest bulk of the rejections came from Houston...a very heavy democrat fraud area....hmmm. Fraudsters if they were smart would mix their fraud...especially in general elections...between the parties so as to not be so obvious.

Exactly. Add the GOP fraud where it would not make a difference (GOP candidate way ahead or way behind) and add the rat fraud votes where they would swing the outcome. Then if it’s uncovered you have your shills like AP say “it was on both sides”.

Let’s face the facts, in the 2020 election they drop all pretense of trying to verify mail-in ballots as being legitimate, they just accepted them and counted them, less than 1 percent were rejected. Now that at least one state is cracking down on fraud we see that 19 percent are rejected. If 2020 had seen a 20 percent rejection rate Trump would still be president, we’d still be energy independent, Russia would not have invaded Ukraine, we wouldn’t have skyrocketing inflation.

The Media-Dem Party knows that a high proportion of their constituents are near illiterate and unable to follow direction so their ballots get rejected under the normal rules. Expecting people to read the instructions, follow the instructions, etc., is undoubtedly “racist”, so that’s why they dropped any effort to examine the mail-in ballots.

Perhaps people ought to learn how to read and follow instructions.
