Putin may be losing the information war, but Zelensky's NATO concession suggests Ukraine may be losing on the battlefield. The West must not fool itself into thinking otherwise, writes military expert BILL ROGGIO

As Russia's brutal invasion of Ukraine grinds on into its fourth week, the physical war rages in the cities and countryside, while an information war is waged over the airwaves and on the internet and social media.

On the actual battlefield, the Russian offensive has undoubtedly slowed over the past week. But what is being described as a 'stalled' takeover may be the result of the Russians taking time to reorganize their forces and improve their logistics.

On the Western side of the information war, we were told from the opening days of the conflict that the Russian military would break due to high casualties and defections, loss of tanks, armored vehicles, artillery and aircraft, and domestic opposition.

Videos of Russian battlefield setbacks abound in the media, and strangely there is little reporting on Ukrainian losses.

And yet, over three weeks into the war, Vladimir Putin remains president and the Russian war machine has not collapsed but in fact continues its plodding, imperfect, and messy advance.

Ukraine certainly has won the war on social media and in the press. This gives the average Western viewer the impression of a lopsided victory in favor of Ukraine.

Additionally, the Pentagon has taken the unprecedented step of conducting daily briefings on the war, even though the U.S. is not at war.

The Pentagon assessments often track closely with assessments given by the Ukrainian government.

This is not a condemnation of the West's use of information and disinformation.

These tactics play a role in the management of conflicts. But the West should not delude itself into believing that the Ukrainians will be saved by wishful thinking.

Weeks to months.

Many companies do reviews mid year. Inflation is high, and the owners will push to cut costs the only place to do that is wages.

Which is what the US media has been proving every day since at least 2016.

$6 for a medium sized jar of mayo at the supermarket yesterday. Couldn’t bring myself to pay that.

Though prior experience proves nothing about how this episode will end, staying in the fight long enough to wear out your enemies’ resolve has led to success without winning every battle. Consider:
American Revolutionaries
North Vietnam and the Viet Cong
Taliban

Russia is in a good position to gradually choke supply lines and wear down Ukraine, but the power behind the throne might tire of massive financial losses. Time will tell who holds out longest.

Russia is taking territory. Ukraine is losing it.

This is not a stalemate

Finally, the Daily Mail comes clean and admits the truth. Will Fox News do the same?

It time to stop the insane waste of money on weapons to Ukraine and limit any assistance to humanitarian relief.

That would be a good idea. Also Germany and Poland need to check the oil and kick the tires on their military.
Still Russia is bleeding badly, win lose or draw.

Nobody is winning here. Ukraine is being destroyed physically and erased geographically. Putinist Russia has been exposed as a corrupt and hollow nation that will be fully owned by the Chicoms. Russian tanks run out of gas a few miles over the border and Russian babushka fight over sugar. Russia has become the joke of the world.

“... suggests Ukraine may be losing on the battlefield.”

“suggests”? “may be”?

Thank you for your definitive, fact filled report.

At that us why the west is propping up Ukraine. The hope is Russia can’t backfill her losses faster than the West can build up.

As with most all acts of modern military aggression, Putin is finding it cheap and easy to go in, hard and expensive to get out and even harder and more expensive to stay.

Try the two sausage egg mcmuffins and large coffee for 5 bucks. Actually, a pretty good deal.

Poland is half of Ukraine military, probably more competent but smaller and poorer equipped, especially when it comes to air and AD. Also I don’t think that Putin is going to show restraint regarding collateral damage you can see in Ukraine currently.

I’m amazed to hear the Daily Mail print anybody who says this

Bill Roggio has been a notable exception. His twitter feed @billroggio is worth reading also.

Think also about Napoleon against Russia. The Russians denied Napoleon the set piece battle he wanted, hitting his weak points and attacking his supply lines. If Ukraine can hold on they will bleed the Russians white.
