Joe Biden’s response to President Zelensky’s desperate cry for help is to give Ukraine more than $1 billion in military aid. Unfortunately, the only weapons Biden approves will cause more Ukrainians to die.
It is difficult to believe an American president could screw up giving away more than $1 billion. But of course, Joe Biden is unlike any other American president. This is not the first time I have been amazed at this level of human incompetence. I was once forced to eat at a national fast-food restaurant in Alpine, Texas where the cook was incapable of making an edible Egg McMuffin.
There’s an old truism in football and war: “You can’t win playing defense.” Biden wants to send the Ukrainians only defensive weapons while Putin kills women and children using every high-tech offensive weapon in his arsenal. The bottom line is Putin is killing Ukrainians with the best mass killing weapons his military factories can provide, while all Biden will approve is the modern military equivalent of BB guns.
There are basically two types of military weapons: direct fire and indirect fire. In layman’s terms the difference is that with direct fire weapons, such as pistols, rifles, and Javelin missiles, the soldier pulling the trigger must be able to see the enemy directly. The problem is that this means the enemy can also see him.
Indirect fire weapons, such as the artillery and medium-range rockets Putin is using to destroy Ukrainian schools and hospitals, are preprogrammed to hit distant targets. With the precision guidance available through GPS and similar Russian systems, 3,000-pound warheads can be accurate within 10 feet, even when fired from reinforced bunkers 500 miles away. Biden refuses to supply comparable weapons to the Ukrainians.

Maybe Biden will send more blankets.
Aiding Ukraine will prolong the war, delay the inevitable, and increase the casualties on both sides. Zelensky needs to explain how he’s going to win the war. Just killing more Russians isn’t good enough.
As long as it's Azov Battalion Nazis dying, I'm cool with this.
They don’t get cash. They get weapons, most of which would have stayed in the storage until they expire. Even Javelins without upgrades are enough for Russian T-72 tanks.
Just wait until all of these anti-aircraft weapons, MANPADS, Javelins, etc., are unaccounted for. Thin about this the next time you're taking an international flight.
In this video, that I strongly recommend people watch, a Ukrainian Nazi gleefully "says the quiet part out loud".
One Billion, my big toe!! How long have the US military advisors been in country? What on God’s green earth do you think those twin Nazi Vindman POS and the rest of the impeachment thugs were doing in Ukraine? The NSC has been running controlling crap since 2012, including through the Trump Administration. They impeached him for turning over their rock! Dark money funneled in, plus aide packages, even after the big guys get their cuts, who knows? Whatever the amount, it is a minuscule down payment on the trillions more to come.
It worked in Afghanistan.
“Zelensky needs to explain how he’s going to win the war. Just killing more Russians isn’t good enough.”
I am not sure I agree with this. People tire of wars that kill people and bring no victory. Russia attack has been dragging out into the destroy, kill people standing in bread lines, loose a lot of money and equipment, far faster than expected. Zelensky doesn’t have to win right now, just dragging it out and the world will look away when direct fire weapons come in. The person who needs to win quickly is Putin.
First of all, thank you for disagreeing with me without name calling and personal attacks. That’s becoming a rarity even on the FR. (I’ll get torched for saying that!) In response to your reasoned remarks, I think you’re assuming Putin will be rational and will make his assessment based on the cost versus benefits of prosecuting the war. Think about Hitler and how he endured loss after loss on both fronts and never wavered, as far as we know, from his desire to wage all out war. I pray that you are right but the answer is something neither of us can know: who is Vladimir Putin?
It’s pretty obvious how he plans on winning. Kill as many Russians as possible and bleed Putins army and starve their economy. The more the Russian army bleeds, the better. There will be a crossover point.
Yep, many of these weapons will end up on the black market.
The plan was that they close McDonald’s, steal assets from Russian tycoons and they are going to depose Putin - a globalist wet dream of 10 years.
It’s not about Putin. It’s always about money. Those that surround Putin allow him to exist because he allows them to prosper. While the political realities are different there, that reality remains the same everywhere. People follow winners in war, it has been that way since the dawn of time. Putin drags this out, and they will drag him out.
Your post is not unreasonable; I offer three thoughts:
Pressure on Hitler caused him to increasingly make poor decisions. The biggest worry here would be that Putin might resort to nukes, but, then again, others are involved in carrying that out. Would they suicide too?
2nd, I’m not sure that in 2022 guys sneaking around under cover with Stingers and Javelins are all that more exposed than a long range Uke missile battery near the Polish border.
3rd, I’d like to see the effect of the announcement of an immediate war footing program to increase the West’s oil and especially gas production (get Israel and Egypt in on it too) so as to drive prices down and within 5 years completely decouple Europe from Russian energy. Yes, Russia can keep selling to India and China, but, of interest is that the Russians are already offering a 20% discount: Drive prices down, down, down, and Pooty is in trouble.
