“ Most of KFCs are still working.”
And why wouldn’t they be? 🤪
Owned by YUM China
Their food is so bad that no wonder they have 800 of them in Russia and 500 in the UK.
Maybe the Russia 85% owner does not want to give up his business because of politics.
Joe Shmoe in Russia has nothing to do with Putin’s policies , why hurt them by closing down their favorite fast food burger joint?
“Is US at war with Russia?”
No, we’re just waking up to the fact that Pidor Putin has been waging war against us since he took over from Boris Yeltsin.
Papa Johns is standing strong. Too bad their pizza kinda sucks.
That’s it.
Burger Czar
Did some business in Russia 20 years ago. Locals said don’t even bother importing spare parts through “normal” channels - he said if you actually want something for your business, partner with the mafia. And this was from a very legitimate firm.
I suspect the local operator of Burger King knows what’s best for his owners/shareholders.
Time for the rise of the Buterbrod Tsar!
Nice, I eat keto and used to buy double quarter-pounders and then throw away the buns. Price $7.00 with tax. Go to Sams, buy 80/20 beef, cook two 1/4 pound paddies on the stove, put a slice of their (real) American Cheese, add some ketchup, and it’s $2.00 (and no tax). So screw it, I’ll just cook my own. Started doing that about a year ago.
The thing is in Russia, now, is that the McDonald’s are re-opening, same stores, but different name and slightly different logo. The Russians no longer protect trademarks of companies that boycott them, and obviously after 30 years, the Russians know EXACTLY to prepare McDonald’s food, without any outside help. And on top of that, my handlers tell me it’s better, because they aren’t forced to use crappy ingredients there, particularly for cooking their French Fries.
So, you can still eat at McDonald’s but you have to go to Russia first.
Thank goodness that’s correct. I could have never logically strung that together with my less than nuanced brain.
“Bob, I’m actually agreeing with you here.”
Thanks, you definitely have more class than some of the others here (and I did notice that earlier).
So it seems to me they have just kissed their 15% investment good-bye for NOTHING other than the opportunity to virtue-signal — which for a millennial may be worth it.
But for a regular functioning adult, maybe not so much…
“Invasion!”
So, we decided now to Cancel the Culture of Burger King in Russia.... I stand with those who oppose the opposition. Let Russia and the Ukraine figure it out. Let business ventures stay out of pressuring gov’ts for any reason. Business is just Business, it is not a political arm.
Just rename them “Burger Tsar” restaurants and be done with it.
This is how enforcing carbon credits is going to go with China.
“The right thing to do is refuse any profits, payments, etc from this operator ....”
The correct thing to do is accept them but announce that you donating them to either:
(1) The US funded biolabs on the Ukrainian/Russia border.
(2) Biden’s, Pelosi’s, Kerry’s, and Romney’s sons as their Ukrainian board income is likely to be reduced due to the invasion.
I knew it. That burger King guy is a neonazi!!!
Yes we are. They stopped in 1991, but we realized we really needed an enemy. We were growing our business in China, so yes, we’re at war with Russia. /s
