ATLANTA — Lia Thomas took control in the final 100 yards of the 500-yard freestyle to make history Thursday as the first transgender woman to win an NCAA swimming championship.
Thomas, the University of Pennsylvania senior who entered the NCAA women’s swimming and diving championships as the top seed, had a season-best time of 4 minutes, 33.24 seconds.
“I didn’t have a whole lot of expectation for this meet,” said Thomas, a former male swimmer for Penn State. “I was just happy to be here and race and compete the best I could.”
Virginia’s Emma Weyant was second at 4:34.99.
Thomas also is the top seed in the 200 freestyle Friday and is the 10th seed in the 100 freestyle Saturday.

Feminist don’t give a rip about these girls, I am however very grateful that we are seeing just how phony these organization really are!!
I can see the value in games like Archery or Sporting Clays when it comes time to actually put food on the table, but some of these other games? I really don’t see the value. A fast swimmer is not going to out swim a hungry shark nor a fast runner is going to out run a hungry cougar.
If NCAA rules are not to your liking, play by a different set of rules. There is no law saying you have to play by NCAA rules. This is the perfect time for a business with a different set of rules to compete in the marketplace. They can sell their services to the game players.
When the NCAA figures out the game players don’t like their rules, they can adjust. This is a matter for the free market to solve.

Then they can just quit -- and go start their own competitive swimming organization just for women.
If I had showed up for a game in my men's amateur hockey league and found that the opposing team had a recently retired NHL player on its roster, I'd go find somewhere else to play.

I understand that argument, i.e., that the so-called feminists have made their bed, so let them sleep in it. And that makes sense on a “macro” level. On a “micro” level, though, who is actually being punished? Allowing this garbage is not actually punishing the feminists who “made the bed.” There’s no skin off Hillary Clinton’s or Gloria Steinem’s noses here. This nonsense is punishing young girls who actually didn’t “make the bed” and had nothing to do with feminist politics. These are 18, 19, 20 year-old girls who’ve actually spent nearly all their lives in the pool training, rather than implementing a feminist agenda.
I don’t know if it was forced or not, but they wrote a letter in “its” support.
Maybe women will finally wake up instead of being followers.
That’s the biggest problem with white women. They follow the herd and are afraid to be “biased”.

According to the actual female swimmers, he has walked around naked, and aroused, in their locker room. They complained to coach, coach said they had to just deal with it.
I think that they feel trapped. If they complain to the coach, the coach tells them that the University said they have to let him swim with the females. This poser, I am sure, would threaten a law suit against the university if they tried to prevent him from swimming with the girls.
I think that the girls should protest. When he gets up on his box, they should step down from theirs and take a knee in protest. And, they should keep on doing that until someone realizes that this is not working.
I don't see that happening soon, though -- maybe never. It is a travesty none the less.
Hear hear. As Jordan Peterson has pointed out from studies, women are more agreeable and afraid to rock the boat. I think the commies knew that targeting white women was the key to the takeover of the US culturally. They weren’t going to get Patton brainwashed, but they could do it to Neurotic Nancy in suburbia. There are exceptions of course, but overall it doesn’t look good.
Women’s sports is officially dead, even if they pretend it isn’t.
The only thing I can say about this report is that at least they called this guy (the winner) a “transgender woman.”
Others are simply announcing this as “Lia Thomas is the winner of the women’s...blah, blah, blah.”
There is a meme of the actual woman who came in second, and thus was the real winner since she was the real woman, which reads, “Second is the new first.”
Very sad. Men and women cannot compete because they are built differently and programmed to be different from the very start after conception. Men have different pelvises, different jointing, etc. That’s how forensic archaeologists can identify skeletons that are thousands of years old. It’s all in the hard wiring.
So if doesn’t matter if Mr Bunny Frou Frou thinks he’s Miss Bunny Frou Frou. He’s not and he never will or can be.
But that gives him a seriously unfair athletic advantage, no matter whether he’s taking hormones or not. Athletics is all about the body, and a man’s body and a woman’s body are different from the very start.
There are no transgender persons, just deluded individuals who repudiate reality.
