WASHINGTON, Monday, March 17.
NEW MILITARY DEPARTMENT.
A new Military Department has been created, composed of the States of South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, and Major-Gen. HUNTER has been assigned to its command. The headquarters are at Beaufort. Gen. HUNTER will rank Gen. SHERMAN, but this is not considered in a military sense as a supersedure of Gen. SHERMAN.
Gen. FREMONT has had an interview with the President and the Secretary of War. He will press his affairs for promptly starting to his Department. His staff will therefore be determined on at an early day. His headquarters will be in the field. Col. SHANKS, of the House of Representatives, will accompany him as soon as his duties will permit.
The Senate was four hours in Executive session, to-day, and confirmed the following nominations for Brigadier-Generals of volunteers:
Major Wm. F. Barry, Chief of Artillery, attached to Gen. McClellan's Staff.
Willis A. Gorman, of Minnesota.
Col. Schuyler Hamilton.
Thomas L. Price, Member of Congress, from Missouri.
Major James N. Palmer, Fifth Cavalry.
Lieut.-Col. Wm. H. Emory, Sixth Cavalry.
Major Andrew J. Smith, Fifth Cavalry.
Marcena L. Patrick, of New-York.
Isaac F. Quimby, of New-York.
Orris S. Ferry, of Connecticut.
Hiram G. Berry, of Maine.
Gen. SICKLES and PAUL R. GEORGE, of New-Hampshire, were rejected.
The following Brigade Surgeons, all of Pennsylvania, were confirmed:
James O. Shawbridge, R.B. McKay, Geo. S. Kemsle, J.H. Taylor, Geo. L. Pancoast, C.F.H. Campfield, F.H. Gross, Washington J. Duffee.
FRAUDS IN THE CLOTHING CONTRACTS.
The Clothing Inspection Board concluded its labors to-day, and submitted its report to the Quartermaster-General. Over $2,000,000 worth of clothing was condemned. The testimony taken revealed gross frauds perpetrated against the Government. These frauds are consequent upon collusion between contractors and Inspectors.

From our home in SoCal we took a driving vacation back east in 1960, when I was eleven. One of our stops was Gettysburg, which remains a vivid memory even after 62 years.
The Lincoln administration was one massive fraud. It is the kernel from which the Deep State "crony capitalist" corrupt system we have now emerged.
The reason the Grant Administration had so much corruption is because Lincoln empowered all those corrupt deals in his government, and corruption had become the norm throughout the Federal bureaucracy.
Putin is channeling Lincoln.
Take the war to civilians. Rape, pillage, burn.
Tecumseh Sherman would be proud.
Control of the narrative was in the Northern publishers where they could be expected to simply regurgitate the government talking points. Same sort of propaganda problem we are facing today with the Liberals in nearly total control of mass communications and the internet.
All you hear on the mainstream channels are lies that bolster the Liberal government propaganda.
Putin is channeling dictators much closer to his home -- Stalin & Hitler.

Documented deaths from Sherman's March are vastly LESS than often claimed, or that we see in places like Ukraine.
