The Eurythmics song “Sweet Dreams” created a nightmare for one Wheel of Fortune contestant on Tuesday. Chris Bryant was well on his way to solving a “song lyrics” puzzle when he mispronounced a word that was completely spelled out.
“Sweet dreams are made of this” was the correct answer, however Bryant pronounced the last word as “these.” While Bryant’s answer was technically incorrect, Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox does appear to pronounce it as “these.” In fact, it rhymes with the final word of the next verse, which is “seas.”
Until I hear Annie Lennox confirm herself that the lyrics are “Sweet dreams are made of THIS”, I will not believe it. Wheel of Fortune ain’t gonna make me think I’ve been hearing those lyrics wrong for almost 40 years. #sweetdreamsaremadeofTHESE pic.twitter.com/pGppkuABpx

Sweet dreams are made of "this?" I was today years old when I learned that "these" isn't the correct lyric. #WheelofFortune

The guy on #WheelOfFortune just said "Sweet Dreams are made of these" to solve the puzzle, and that's exactly what I said too. I could have swore it was "these"!

Today I learned it's "sweet dreams are made of this" not "these."
Anyone else questioning everything they know?#WheelOfFortune

Millions disagreed with you, which of course means nothing more than everybody’s tasters are different. 🙂
“In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida”
That’s a common mispronunciation of “In-A-Gadda-Da-This”.
Millions perhaps agree with me. What is this? Mob think. That’s a liberal notion.
This contestant didn’t know the word declension to a crappy song from 1983. Forty years ago.
Pat sajak kindly asked social media denizens to consider the pressure these people are under
“Louie Louie”
I still can’t figure that one out, and I’ve tried to sing it 100s of times!
“Game shows seem to get more ridiculous over time.”
Isn’t that the truth!? Jeopardy with their trans gender,
same sex partners as contestants. FREAK ME OUT! Had these ‘folks’ been
seen on Let’s Make A Deal, might have been a bit more understanding.
Louie Louie
That stuff is like something from the Navajoes Wind Talkers.
Obviously not. I believe I am the only one that brought up the fact that millions disagree with you that it was a crappy song. But I then further added, that fact means nothing more than everyone's tasters are different. I was not trying to demean your tastes, nor was I trying to change your opinion, I was merely pointing out that your opinion neither rules nor should it be dismissed.
I'm sure millions most likely do agree with you, and perhaps billions never heard the song.
You provided us with your opinion, and I, in return, provided my opinion. Apparently you are incapable of hearing someone else's opinion that disagrees with your opinion. That my FRiend, sounds more like the liberal (leftist) mindset of today's world. I merely provided a factoid.
Read my post #59 where I give my opinion of why this contestant most likely missed what was clearly written on the board, and stated what he thought the word was. If he thought the word was these, it is hardly likely that he hated the song, for I doubt he would have said these instead of this. Most would have no clue what the lyrics might be in the first place with regards to a song they hated.
But, honestly, you need to chill, for I did offer up a smile with my statement. Perhaps you do not know what a smile indicates? It indicates that someone is playing with you, not being critical of you.
Sweet dreams are made of thee
4 letters
"The shirts in my closet are made of cloth" seems to be grammatically correct but mixes singular and plural. Or "The chairs in my house are made of wood."
Then again, for years, I thought the lyric in the Toto song "Africa" went "There's nothing that a hundred men on Mars could ever do" so what do I know?
I’d call grandma when W of F was on so we could play together. I had cable but she was on antenna. She never figured out I saw the answer a few seconds before she did. Guess I should feel bad.
“Wrapped up like a douche…”
“In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
Top that.”
Thank You Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin.
Can’t wait until they do Manfred Mann.
“Wrapped up like a douche
Another rumour in the night.”
That is LOL funny!
“Mares eat oats and
Does eat oats and
Little lambs eat ivy
A kid’ll eat ivy, too
Wouldn’t you?
A kid’ll eat ivy too
Wouldn’t you?”
Marezy doates and dozey doates and little lamzy divey
Skittley divey do, wouldn’t you.

I feel wrecked up like a douche that is roaming in the night about this.
