Horrifying video shows woman shot dead after stabbing cop serving eviction notice
Harrowing bodycam footage shows the moment a San Diego woman was shot dead by cops serving an eviction notice — after she went ballistic and stabbed an officer.
The newly released video shows Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Bunch knocking on the door of 47-year-old Yan Li at the Acqua Vista Condominiums on March 3.
“Here’s a notice to evict,” Bunch tells the woman, who is seen brandishing a large knife at her side, the San Diego Union Tribune reported.
“Put the knife down right now or I’m gonna f—- shoot!” the deputy yells as he draws his service weapon. “Put the knife down. Put the f—- knife down!”

Buddy of mine took a job as a repo guy. Was getting set to put the hook on a caddy (not purple but you get my drift) when guy yells out of window, put your hands on that car and that is where they are going to stay.
He decided in another line of work.
So I shouldn’t stab a policeman if I want to live?
“Such as what?...”
You should see the training they have for social workers who remove child drug dealers from their full grown drug dealer parents. Multi million dollar suites of practice/demonstration rooms with electronic controls, sound effects, and dozens of cameras... The top floor of every “child services”/”family services” building in NYC is dedicated to these.
The life of a Repo Man is always intense.
“IMHO, poor judgement was shown by the cops. Just sayin’.”

I would agree. It seems as if at least one of the first officers was itchin’ to shoot someone, his mind went to it right off the bat.
The stabbing was horrifying, I agree.
Most likely she figured she had a 'get out on pale' pass.
There’s still a bell curve.
Good shoot. Wonder what kind of ammo San Diego PD uses? I’d guess it was not full metal jacket.
Or, did they not teach you people that fact when you took your citizenship test?
Like my pappy told me...Never bring a knife to a gun fight!
Holy cow. What's the weather like on your planet?
If a duly authorized officer of the law is threatened by a citizen (yes, brandishing a weapon of any type is considered a threat), a crime has been committed.
He has a duty to disarm and arrest the perp.
Lemme guess. You're libertarian?

there fixed it
Nonsense. For all he knew she was fixing lunch and just happened to have a kitchen utensil in her hand when she came to the door.
She didn’t stab, try to stab, lunge at him, or even brandish it. He wasnt in any danger.
Except that’s not what happened.
I think it’s a cultural thing. They call it a “Banzai charge”. Very big over there... very big.
Nope. That ship sailed when she threatened him with a butcher knife. Then it’s no longer just serving papers. She’s getting arrested for a violent felony and has barricaded herself inside.
He wasn’t a process server that I can read but and officer of some manner. He cannot ignore her brandishing a knife, IMO. He did walk away and called the regular police.
She sure as heck did. She brandished it as a weapon and told him to back off. She knew and wasn’t confused. But do whatever you think is best in your life.
