Good evening everyone. I haven't been here in a while because I was infected with Covid-19 last month.
I had been ill since around Christmas time last year, but every test I took came back negative. I got progressively worse until, finally, on Jan 31st/Feb 1st I tested positive for Covid-19. I tried to ride it out the rest of that week but couldn't and I checked myself into the local hospital on Saturday the 6th of Feb. They admitted me and I spent the next six days being treated. I got the 5 day Remdesivir treatment and was also given many other medications; steroids, antibiotics, etc. In the end I came out on top. One thing that really helped me was using my CPAP machine that I used for my sleep apnea, doing breathing exercises, and ensuring that I didn't lay on one side or the other for too long of a time.
It's been a long road back and I could have just as likely died if not for the quick action and expert care I received. I'm still not 100%, perhaps 80-85%, but I'm getting my strength back as time progresses. My taste buds are all out of whack, and I haven't gotten my appetite back. Foods that I used to eat no longer appeal to me, or even taste good, and foods that I didn't once eat I now do, like cottage cheese. Whodathunk?
I'm typing this now because I got a burst of energy that I'm sure will leave as quickly as it appeared. But I wanted my friends here to know why I've been gone the past couple of months.
Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words. My oxygen levels were at 85-88% when I was admitted, but are now regularly 95-97%. My CPAP machine played a key role in getting my oxygen levels up, plus the hospital staff added an adapter to the hose going to my mask to allow for direct oxygen input. By the fourth day, I was off their oxygen and breathing direct air.
So if the fact she lived alone and had no one else to notice she was getting loopy (losing O2) made the COVID more onerous, would that fit?
Never mind her obesity and other issues, though generally you’d think she was healthy and active.
My reply concerned your misuse of the word "extenuating." In actual fact, the factors (obesity, "other issues") you mention should not be viewed as extenuating circumstances - but rather as exacerbating circumstances!
Regards,
I’m aware you’re trying to correct me. I’ll think of that in the future.
My point was especially that her living alone and not getting help basically “lessens” the importance of COVID. Not sure that fits your definition.
Either way my reply was meant to describe that she did indeed have factors that seem to make things worse.
Ah, I see! It is, indeed, difficult to choose the right word when the right word depends solely upon the actual intent of your statement - i.e., whether you are trying to exculpate COVID or inculpate various other factors.
"Extenuating" circumstances are usually cited by a defense attorney in providing an "excuse" for his client and thus lessening his guilt.
It does, indeed, depend upon your point of view here!
And sorry if I seemed to be lecturing you! (I probably was!)
Regards,
Also eat minced garlic and cold sauerkraut.
No I am not joking- best antibiotic you can take.
I was encouraged to keep using my CPAP machine. It helps keep the lungs expanded. I also have the breathing dohicky they gave me to strengthen my lungs.
Thank you!
Thank you for the kind words!
I definitely plan on trying! Thanks for the kind words.
I have the FLCCC protocols and I have ivermectin. I also have all the supplements they said to take. Much as I hate to say it, none of it didn’t helped. I’m 61 so maybe my age had something to do with it, but nothing stopped me from getting it.
I have a boat load of Ivermectin, and I have all the supplements. None of it helped me, none, and I’ve been taking the supplements and Ivermectin since last summer.
Cottage cheese and Sherbet, raspberry flavored!
Omicron
Congenital heart disease from birth...heart block , trifascicular bloc, intraseptal LAD , heart cleft...pseudo Marian ....
Heart issues are as much DNA as behavioral for anyone short of cocaine addicts
Never been over 10-15% overweight
Thanks for being concerned asshole....depp
It's weird, too, cuz regular potato chips taste terrible, yet bar-b-q chips don't, most sweets taste horrible, yet sherbet doesn't. Shredded Wheat cereal is great, yet Life cereal sucks. Pop Tarts are great, Blueberry and Cinnamon, yet Cherry Pop Tarts suck. Cheese products, for the most part, taste horrible, yet Provolone is ok.
What is setting me back, and you hit on it, is responsibilities and stress. I came back to a mess at the office that HAD to be taken care of when I should have been taking a complete week off work. Then the next two weeks were supposed to half days. That didn't work out well either.
I'm back to about 80-85%, and I get better each week, but things could be better. I just thank God I'm still on this side.
Omicron
damn...
Everybody reacts differently to illness and medication. My wife got the same vaxxine I did. It didn’t hurt her or help her. Darn near killed me. We both got covid. When I got covid I was on all the protocols plus 2x per week on ivermectin. I had to up the ivermectin to 2x per day.
Thanks for the kind words, and I hope and pray you get back to full strength as well. Thank you!
