William Hurt, the Oscar-winning actor who starred in films like Body Heat, The Big Chill and Broadcast News, has died at the age of 71. Hurt’s son Will confirmed his father’s death in a statement Sunday. “It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father and Oscar winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday,” the family said. “He died peacefully, among family, of natural causes. Posting crap like this is how idiots die.

What a nonsensical response... thankfully it at least identified how little you know.
If you are a guy, chances are very high that you already have prostate cancer... see my post 78. Talk to just about any doctor and they will tell you... if you live long enough to die of ‘natural causes’, you’ll die with prostate cancer. The operative word is ‘with’ since few people die because of prostate cancer.

In all fairness to hollyweird libs, it's become a professional/career necessity. Even James Woods acknowledged that his career was over when he started criticizing O'DumDum's incompetence.
That's the thing about libs, viz. they refuse dialogue. They demand monologue. Their own.
No actor is permitted freedom of speech.

Yes. “Dark City” is criminally underrated. Hurt was good in that.

Mr. Brooks and Gorky Park too.
I thought he never got the praise that others from his “age” did.
RIP.

I blow the dust off “The Doctor” every now and then. A good under-rated William Hurt flick.

Actually I need to amend this, it was Jeff Daniels I was thinking of not William Hurt.

I am not surprised to hear of Mr Hurt's passing. I watched
Black Widow for the first time a week ago, and I thought Hurt looked extremely sick and unhealthy in his one cameo scene. I had not heard of his terminal cancer, but I knew he must have been sick.
I was never a huge fan. He seemed to project a boring persona and played a lot of boring people. In his earlier days he seemed a bit more animated. One that I liked was Eyewitness.

I am really saddened over this. Great talent and so many great movies: Body Heat. Gorky Park, Children of a Lesser God and so many more. RIP Bill!
