More than 1 ton of fentanyl seized in NYC in 2021 — soaring 206 percent in one year
The flow of fentanyl into New York City soared to record highs in 2021.
Law enforcement seized 2,420 pounds of the synthetic opioid across the state last year, with 95 percent of that haul, 2,300 pounds, in the Big Apple alone, according to disturbing new Drug Enforcement Administration data obtained by the Post.
The annual total represents a staggering 206 percent increase over the previous record 790 pounds of fentanyl seized in 2020.
“Throughout my 30 years in law enforcement I have never seen anything with greater killing power,” warned DEA New York Division acting special agent in charge Tim Foley.
Overdose deaths in NYC peaked at 596 in the first quarter of 2021, the latest period for which the city has data, steadily rising each quarter since 2018. More than 100,000 Americans died of drug overdoses last year — a 29 percent spike in just one year.
Fentanyl increasingly arrives in New York City in ready-to-ingest pill form, designed to look like legitimate OxyContin, Vicodin or Adderall, among other prescription drugs.
The DEA of New York seized 82,087 fentanyl pills in 2021, up more than fourfold over the 19,378 pills found in 2020.

I know journalism is dead and all, but it would be interesting to understand the logistics of this. We read how first responders just get near the stuff and keel over. Or that a seized 2 or 3 pounds somewhere “is enough to kill every man, women and child in the state. Where is it stored? Is it destroyed? How is it disposed of? Certainly hazardous waste.
Too bad. Think of all the Democrats we can rid ourselves of and they do it by personal choice!

That’s what I was wondering as well. Last year some cop pulled over illegals transporting around 10 pounds of fentanyl in their car in a plastic bag. Well why were they alive? I would think just being near that stuff would have killed them. I don’t know, maybe the drug mules know how to handle it and the cops don’t?
What I would like to know are the statistics....How many people have died so far since the Biden occupation opened the border allowing this stuff to flood into the country?
What’s especially scary is this fentanyl besides being mixed with cocaine and heroin is being mixed with EVERYTHING now such as these party drugs kids take when they go out clubbing like Ecstasy or what they call “Molly” and I even heard stories where it’s being mixed with marijuana. I told my friends kids who are in their late teens early 20s, DO NOT take ANY drug they get off the street including weed. Pretty ironic way to end our drug problem, the dealers are killing off the users.

Yet, the feeble minded, even on FR, blame COVID-19 for any increases in deaths over the past few years. The elites have been hiding the drug deaths behind covid.
