Since when did the US get a bunch of MiGs? Those are Russian planes.
They want Poland to give their aircraft to Ukraine.
Poland has MiGs.
The Migs would be donated by ex-Soviet states in Eastern Europe like Poland etc.
We send hobbits into Russia on a regular basis to steal their MiGs. It's been quite successful.
Just wait until they find out how many of their nuclear warheads are missing.
Sounds good except for one problem, the transfer of arms is not so simple, a DOD official pointed out how complicated it was and basically not feasible in this circumstance.
One problem, as I understand it, the MIGS cannot go directly to the Ukraine from Poland, they must go West first. Poland has to preserve it's neutrality. Under normal circumstances they would have the wings removed, be preserved and flown via transports to the USA. Reassembled in the USA, flown to somewhere to turn over to Ukrainian pilots. Who is going to fly them? Likely scenario would be reassembling the aircraft in another Western country nearer to Eastern Europe and the Ukrainians picking up the aircraft there. But where and would that violate neutrality?
Even if the Polish pilots flew them to the USA, for example, those pilots cannot fly them to the Ukraine. Also, there is the question of training Polish pilots on USA aircraft and not leaving Poland vulnerable. Would we fly aircraft to Poland and start the training while we also provided air support? Love all these 60 plus year old desk warriors in DC and wanna be faux warriors in Hollywood pushing for a war that will kill our youth while they get richer.
why send migs with one A10 can just give us highway of death part 2?
Some pilots asked some interesting questions. Can all former Warsaw Pact pilots read Russian? Are all the instruments in Russian? Are the 29 manuals in the Ukranian AF in Ukranian or Russian?
Just some thoughts.
