I’d hit up that corned beef hash all day, every day.
Yuck. There’s a reason why I’ve never seen an Irish restaurant.
OMG......I just had a corned beef on rye......w/ (gasp) Russian Dressing.
me too brother
good, stay the hell out!
Soo good...
Corned Beef this year. $4/lb for point and $8/lb for flat. The point cut is junk. Whole brisket for corning yourself is unobtainium. $$$
Two closest grocery stores have points advertised but not flats. If you have to ask the price ...
Another grocery store has chuck roast $5.49/lb
I corned a deer leg roast a few years ago. Little strong but not bad. I wonder what corned chuck roast would be like? I’ve still got pink salt left.
“Traditionally, corned beef would be made with a brisket. However, beef is beef. If I remember correctly, the piece you see in these pictures is a chuck roast. It was on sale, and arguably higher quality than a brisket.”

I had homemade corned beef hash at a restaurant once. So much better than canned. Tried making it myself one time but it wasn’t as good as the restaurant’s version.
Per an Irish lady I worked with for many years, soda bread is not sweet and does not have fruit in it. She made both dark and light soda bread and a huge pot of lamb stew on St. Patty’s day and brought it into the office. A plate of lamb’s stew and a couple of pieces of soad bread with Irish butter, and you were good to go for the rest of the day.
flat will be on sale on the 18th :)
a huge pot of lamb stew, with dunkin bread...
sooo good
No corner beef. (Yuck) Okay to the soda bread.
Put mustard on the corned beef and you’ll be fine.
I found one store that has flats for $6.99 which isn’t bad. I might just do the corned chuck thing though. Easy to do, little cheaper and probably more tender.
I’ll have yours, on rye, with mustard.
it will be on sale on the 18th.
bet on it
but the chuck sounds like a good idea to me.
bon appittes
Double no. Not a fan of mustard either.
