I couldn't possibly care less. Bitchy woke millionaires that no longer play for 'us'. It's all about the bling, the sponsors, and making the most dough. Who the hell can take their family of four to an afternoon game without dropping more than one C note? It's sickening.

We have one of the older franchises in MLB, the St. Louis Cardinals. A franchise with the richest of histories. The ballpark, the Clydesdales, the fans etc. Do you know where this years crop of rookie recruits came from? All south of the border on through Latin America. Because...well because we can't be recruiting any Americans, white or black. It's been that way for some years now. Eff them.

The disagreement over money has been going on for some time, and it has been resolved for a few years. The problem with the game continues. I've loved baseball all my life, and still do. But MLB has a serious problem with the game. It's almost unwatchable.

They are trying several things to try to make it more exciting but they haven't really hit on the actual problem. As it is, the pitchers are so dominant, and the batters are so good that many at bats turn into an epic battle of full counts. At that point, a mistake by a pitcher or a batter results in a walk or a strikeout. As it turns out, the number of full counts, walks, and strikeouts have all gone up dramatically in the last few years.

Fans have always preferred offense, so the best way to fix baseball is to move the mound back a foot or so. No need to mess with DH's, shift bans, pitch clocks, or bigger bases. Let the batter hit the ball, and let the fielders field. The number of strikeouts and walks would drop, but the game would have more action.

Yawn...I'll be getting my baseball fix from my 11YO grandson, when his season starts. He has the same love for the game that I had at his age.

I'm looking forward to next year, they're travelling to Cooperstown for a tournament.
