“Take me out to the ball game,
take me out to the crowd,
buy me some peanuts . . .”

My dear dad would take me to Shea stadium and always bring peanuts in the shell. He would keep score on a score card. Anyone remember those? Thanks dad. A true American.

Dad took me to many Twins game. Mom took me to one on the last day of the season. The Twins were out of post season consideration. But, we sat there, in a light mist, watched the Twins win as Cesar Tovar played all 9 positions.

My fondest baseball memory.

Couldn’t care less now.

My dad took myself and my sister to Astros games in the early 70’s. Stopped by Yamin’s Pizza for lunch on the way. Sunday afternoon ball in an air conditioned stadium. Good memories.

My dad took me to many Giants games at Candlestick Park during the 60s. I loved seeing Willie Mays in action.

Other than that, I didn't see much of my father. I was raised by my stepfather, and he treated me with love and respect.

Yep - my dad taught me. When my kids played ball I was always the team scorekeeper because I knew how to keep the book. I used to have my dad's completed scorecard in the program for game 7 of the 1960 World Series. Unfortunately it disappeared in one of my moves.
